He had his spare headlights that i wanted to purchase almost 3 months ago but i couldn't get around to picking them up as he is the bay area and I was in Vegas. My family gave my fiance and I a baby shower last weekend in the Bay Area and Mike was nice enough to hold the lights and meet me while I was there. He considered them his "baby shower gift" to me although i don't think my fiance would agree.

Thanks again Mike for supporting my mod addiction and having my pregnant fiance nag me as to why I have a box of headlights packed with diapers in the trailer on my 9 hour trip from the Bay Area to Las Vegas.

so i figured it would probably be a good idea to document my process as I went along. this project has taken over 6 weeks and is still not complete. my halo's should be in later this week... hopefully. some of the pics are duplicates from some of my other post. I want to extend a big thank you to mikey's2010SR5 and Jesse1983 for contributing their time in answering all my questions. Sorry for the quality of the cell phone pics.

When I first got them from mikey...


After blacking out the housings...

This was my outline for the cut. I cut a larger portion out where the where the reflector cap is. you can see it in the second picture.



Aiming the projectors was probably the most difficult part of the entire project...





Nobody likes jaundice...


but everyone loves clear eyes!


This is how they sit in my garage as of today.



I have 4-6 weeks before my baby boy is born so these should be going in soon.
 
My LED halo's came in yesterday so I was finally able to finish the project and seal up the headlights. I'm going to wire them off a relay so they're only on when the headlights are off.





With the led's lit up. They are more white than what the picture shows.

thanks! now i have to pray that my fiance won't notice the different headlights. :scared: i know i have my priority backwards right now being that i'm constantly working on my bike and truck when i should be getting ready for this baby but she gave me the ok since i'm prohibited from doing anything after he's born.
 
and they're finally installed!!!! I had to tweak the headlight a little bit because I was slightly off on aiming the projector but otherwise i'm pretty satisfied with the outcome of the retrofit. i haven't tried them out at night yet since there is a ton of light out but i'm sure they'll be fine. i wired the halo relay incorrectly so i'll need to redo that as well.

my fiance wasn't to happy when she saw the new headlights. but as soon as she saw them at night she quickly changed her mind. i was able to get some day pics of the halo's. i have them wired to a relay so they only only come on when the car is on and automatically shut off when the headlights turn on. i apologize for the crap cell phone pics. i'll be purchasing a SLR soon before my baby boy is born.





 
i had made a little mistake when aiming the passenger side projector and now i'm kicking myself in the behind now. the cutoff is still slightly off after a couple days of adjusting. :redbrick:



i really don't feel like baking the headlights to try to adjust anything since everything is sealed up. i'm just going to sell these and start over again. i'll post a f/s thread with all the details.

I went through the same exact thing, except it was my driver side. I thought it was easier to adjust the work I had already done, rather than start all over. At least you already know what needs to be done to correct it.

That's funny. My wife doesn't care what I do, but my affinity for lights does sometimes get me :rolleyes:

After she saw mine at night, she actually asked me to put them in her CRV (which I gladly did).

Do you have any recommendations in how to adjust them even more? I used plastic shims under the mounting tabs and even shifted the lights as I screwed them in. I do see where could have been a horizontal adjustment screw so maybe there could be a mod I can do to that.

how did you attach the projectors to the reflector bowl?

Thanks! I tried convincing her to let me do the matrix... I was shot down almost immediately.

This makes a problem for replacing parts, doesn't it? :noidea:
Which should be stated in the "sale"
