Hey. I have the same truck and only get 200 per tank. That is strictly City driving. I don't drive overly aggressive, but i DO drive with the AC on all the time...
Highway miles (per tank) with NO AC is around 320 at 69 to 71 MPH with the cruise control on. I guess it the price we pay for having 4WD...
 
another thing, my gas light comes on when im low and on a downhill slope and goes off again when i get to even ground or go up an uphill slope. and, i noticed this morning, that when it is so low that the light is on when im on even ground, i can make a somewhat-sharp turn and it goes back off momentarily... is this normal??
 
yeh mine does the same thing, it's cool, my gas light starts coming on when I have bout 4 gallons left in the tank too,

The 0W30 will seem quite thin in the summer, but probably fine in the winter. Do you switch to 5W30 or 10W30 in the summer? Or, whatever the synthetic equivalents are?

i was under the impression 0w oils were for high efficiency engines like hybrids and what-not

I think a lot of people in cold environments use a thinner oil so that it flows better when it is really cold outside.

I wouldn't run 0w all year.

You are correct, I have 5w 30 synthetic in mine and I bet it wouldn't start with 10w 30 on some of the colder days, when it was -5 out the other day my starter had a hell of a time turning the engine over...I think it was a combo of a frozen battery and rock solid oil. :biggrin2:

I bet those guys talked about you when you left. You did make yourself out to be a bit not clued in about tires.

That is max pressure and not recommended on an unloaded truck and will wear out your tires in the center and become slick on pavement and is dangerous. 55psi is for a fully loaded truck and should be lowered once you're empty.

Also note that when you drive your tires heat up and will expand more and if your running max pressure you are leaving little room for that expansion and could blow out on you real easily.

I hope you have made adjustments with consideration to how your tires are wearing and how your truck rides and handles.

Not trying to be an ass just trying to educate since every tire shop will adjust your tire pressure to 32psi unless you state otherwise. The tire guys were just doing their job and didn't want a liabilty on their hands if you were killed and they were the culprit at keeping your tires at 55psi.

i wrote later on that I was mistaken and it was 50psi, yea I know bout friction heat and increase air pressure, running your tires low will get them hotter from friction than running them at pressure, but i really keep them at about 45psi and the ride is fine the handling is good, and the tires are wearing just fine, and they've been on for 2 years(ish) now and they still have plenty tread life left, i have even had people tell me "man this rides alot smoother than I thought it would" anywho, if aint aint broke dont fix it

Mine does that also. Totally normal...
 
OK, the weather has warmed up a bit around here, and I'm seeing a good improvement in fuel efficiency.

I just filled up and calculated 19.26 mpg! This is mixed driving too.

I also just bought a scangauge2, and it's showing that I'm getting well over 20mpg while going 55. usually between 22 and 26.

The warmer weather and the inflated tires seem to be the trick. I haven't done anything else to it.
 
wow, you guys are getting great mileage. i get 17 tops highway driving at 65 with cruise. new plugs and all
 
My fill up this last monday was 17.9mpg and that was about 80% city, driving 6 miles each way to and from my college a couple times a day.

I'm trying this tank with the ECT button engaged the whole time and i'm going to fill it up tomorrow when i get out of class and i'll let you know what my mpg will be. It'll be all city and judging from how little my gas gauge says i've used i think its going to be a pretty impressive tank.

So you think the mpg will be better with the ECT button engaged? This should be interesting! I was actually surprised I got 16.7 mpg with the supercharger as I was expecting something @ 13 mpg.
 
I'm not sure if the ECT button would make that much of a difference but i read on another thread on this site that it may so i figured i'd give it a shot. all it does is hold the gear a little longer so that it rev's slightly higher than normal so maybe there will be less downshifting or w/e. idk. i just decided to give it a shot. lol

Since the warmer temperatures I have been getting much better gas mileage...I also ran a can of Techron through and I think that may have helped. I got almost 18MPG on the last tank of gas mostly city! I'm loving it!
 
With the cold I've been warming up my truck for a while before I go anywhere. Plus my air filter is really dirty. 14mpg for me.... yuck.
