They look cool but I try to avoid things that say 'please find gun inside' (to both the bad guys and the good guys). When I was 16 it didn't seem to take much excuse for me to get stopped by local gendarme. But then again, I did have a lead foot and loud mufflers.

Not military, but I know that the UN bought some 3rd Gens.
All of them were badged as 4Runner's but came with 3.0 TD engines. I'm interested in knowing what markets got this option without being badged as a Surf or SW4.
LC70's, Defenders and series trucks in that shot. Pretty cool.

She was totaled by insurance, but I swapped a new frame and lots of other goodies to get her back on the road better than ever. Took care of the wheels, bumpers are in the planning stages to be built next month perhaps.

NATO and the UN have lots of VZN185L 4Runners. In fact, Toyota specifically built many VZN185L 4Runners according to NATO specifications.

My last trip there were a ton of Hilux's and Prado's on base. There was also what I believe was either a 2nd or 3rd Gen that was either on a Humvee chassis or had a lot of parts cross leveled. I'll see if I can find pics.
Edit: Found it. 2nd Gen on a CUCV Chassis, so 6.2 Detroit and Dana's under both ends. Belonged to the SF guys. Who knows what they used it for.

Late 80s pickup wheels painted to match would be be a cool choice -- would really complete the military look.
