milkshake bit me last week

So this known issue has bit me. I don't have the money to rebuild so I'm going to try and flush it myself. I've read a lot about flushing, drive a week, flush again, drive a week and flush again. I figure I'll do this 3 or 4 times and change the trans filter each time as well. When changing the filter can I spray the area with brake clean to try and get the antifreeze in the area off? How about spraying brake clean through the trans lines to the radiator. If brake clean is a bad idea than what can I use? If I have the pan off and dump trans fluid down the dipstick will it just drain straight down or does it go somewhere else before it hits the pan?

A friend of mine works at a Trans shop and his dad is the owner. He says if you get the milk shake before the trans starts surging you are ok. Too long and the antifreeze brakes down the glue in the clutch material.

So I found a video on YouTube with someone using a oil extractor pump to push in the new fluid and while it's running it also pushes out the old fluid. My question is i can get a 5 gallon bucket of trans fluid if I pump that in then 5 gallons of pink should come out. Should I do it this way? Should I just continue to run fluid through until it's nice and red weather it takes the 5 gallons or not?
