Great looking rig youve got there; I love my pacific coast blue! Im getting ready to throw my rear springs in and bump up my 5100's. My main thing is weather to go with the 255 75"s or 80's; I want the 80's but how much rubbing are you getting when under flex. I live up in Colorado so we have plenty of pavement and even more back roads. Are you rubbing on the body mount?
 
sorry man I didn't reply back sooner the tires rub a lot all the way around. cant even go in or out of the driveway with out some sort of rubbing but to tell you the truth I have never owned a wheeling rig that didn't have tire rubbing issues. I figure is rubbing is racing then tire rubbing is wheeling.

[MENTION=95853]toy4xchris[/MENTION], you probably require the body mount chop. I have the Toytec Ultimate kit on my Runner and the BMC is the only cutting that I have left to do. Once that is complete, I will be "tire rub free"! I'm sure that I'm not telling you anything that you do not already know.

Nice build. Hopefully I will find a 4th gen to start on. Sorry to tell you but you have the front strut installed incorrect. The perch on the bottom of the front strut is up side down.


Oops look like other members already caught that.. Dont feel bad.. I had the same issue. I also had to redo the fronts 3 times. To get the height the way I wanted.

ya I still need to chop the mount but also been having fender rubbing issues also my poor factory flares are just about ripped off but oh well just an excuse to modify it more down the road.

It's all good I had to redo the front a few times now between having the perches upside down and breaking/bending a set up bilstiens well one side broke and the other bent but they warrantied them and the second set seem to be holding up a bit better.
 
Ouch.. Yes look like you may have over extended them. I would check to see if it can be warranted. Since there was no instructions on how to install the perch.
 
my wife was driving and I was following behind in a buddies rig when she crested a small hill a little to fast and hit a few whoops and ya bad day. good thing it was on a trail and a friend had his trailer with us.
 
So long time no updates don't remember if I mentioned before but bilstein warrantied the broken shocks with out any argument.

After bending both sides running boards I finally got around to ordering some 4x innovations DOM sliders with kick outs. I can't wait for them to show up.

major malfunctions I have had since build are:
when I lifted it I found the the passenger side alignment cams in the LCA were seized in the bushing so asked the tire shop to repair it when the did the tires and alignment.

Well they fixed it but replaced the whole LCA with another one that had a cheap ball joint that has since gone to crap.

Only good thing is that they gave me back the old arm so I replaced the bushings in it and will be swapping it back into the truck this weekend with a brand new MOOG joint on it.

Other than that it has been a great truck

After getting the 4runner LCA swapped out the wife and I put together this for our future 4runner driver :)
 
So went and picked up some new parts for the 4runner over the holiday weekend.
06 SuperDuty Dana 60 front and Sterling 10.5 rear.
Now to start the slow collection and build-up of the parts to take the old girl to the next level









You don't really understand the massiveness of these axles until you see them in person and or try to move them around. Used a 12oz beer can to try and give you an idea of the size.

Is this serious? Holy crap your axles are gonna weigh more than the rest of the truck!

Good luck fabricating, I'll definitely be watching this thread! :popcorn:
