Missing Alarm system??

Hey all new here to the forum. Just picked up a 98 runner the other day and I’m already in love with it! 135 k miles and got it for 2800. Everything works as it should so far.. but back to the point.. I have a sticker that says VIP alrarm on it and of course that means I have keyless entry but when I tried to locate the brain and control box it was no where to be found under the seat or near the gas and break pedals.. so I opened up the steering column cover or bottom dash cover what ever you wanna call it and found a red and green wire clipped. So I’m almost positive it was taken out sadly and now my question is should I get a replacement control box or just go aftermarket like the viper alarm system? Definitely want keyless entry and want to get an Alarm system.. thanks for everyone that reply’s..

I have the Viper keyless entry with remote start (no alarm) and I love it. Only reason I put that in is because my 96 LTD didn't come with a factory alarm for some reason and I wanted keyless entry.
