So I got home from the dealership the other day after they replaced my HVAC control lights (since it's still under warranty and saved me $30) and noticed that a piece had popped out/missing of the shifter cover. Does anyone know what part number I need to order? The dealer has been pretty useless. Not sure why I do anything through the dealership these days...

im not sure the dealership would replace it though, due to the fact that they dont even go near there to replace the hvac bulbs... so i see them saying it was missing before hand, or the common "its not our problem" 
oh and ps, i searched through all of the conicelli part diagrams (bored at work) and i didnt find a part number but ill keep searching.

That is the access
to unlock the shifter in an emergency & may only be available as an assembly with a larger part of the console. Try the auto wreckers for it if you can't shame the dealer into fixing their mistake.
The part number for the shift lock cover is 33554-35080; cost is $2.67.
I just bought one the day; I was buying parts and needed a $2 item to push my total over $60 so I could get free shipping.

Yesterday had a bad experience with one; I was checking availability and price of a part and the part manager will no longer give out part numbers. Just lost me a customer.

ive never had a good experience with dtot, i always use precision toyota if i need anything.
I had problems with Precision Toyota - two bad buying experiences (1 used/ 1 new) and a bad paint job. Got what I wanted when I bought used, but was screwed by the Precision Toyota Customer Service Rep in trying to set things right when I bought a Taco (should of took them to court (had them by the ba11s) and made them eat the Taco, but that's another story.) Left the paint job alone, got my money back, and got rid of the vehicle.
Precision Toyota of Tucson is real good with parts; they will only sell the part at MSRP and will help you with parts numbers. <b>Desert Toyota of Tucson used to be helpful with part numbers but will sell the part for MSRP and markup the price with whatever percentage they feel like putting on it; I've seen markup from 10% to 200%.</b> Great turnover for service advisors at Precision, but had limited servicing with them; but was ok. Switched to Desert, and everything was ok, not exceptional. The latest with Desert Toyota, however, has pissed me off as I do/did use them for part numbers. One of the reasons I had switched to DT was because of my location. Not giving out part numbers is childish (they cry about the loss to the Internet sales) and their loss overall, because they will loss potential servicing and buying used/new vehicles. While I do buy most of my parts online, I used DToT to service the vehicles; I also bought this 04 4Runner from them. I was planning doing several hundred in servicing on another Toyota vehicle, and am in the market for a newer 4Runner, so....

ah, see ive never purchased with them, only dealt with them with parts.
when i went in to see if they had my window strip thing they offered to install it for free since its so simple.
i purchased my 4r from jim click, but mainly because i know a guy that works there that has dealt with my whole family with purchases. oh, and i get maintenance for life, free oil chagnes and tire rotations every 5k and all fluids filled. cant beat it.

The part number is still valid. but the price has gone up a little, now it's somewhere between $3.60 to $5.00
