Missing ring between front seat and console

Has anyone else dropped something small between the front seats and the center console and had problems finding it? If you found it, where was it at? some secret spot which it fell into?

I'm in a bit of a predicament... The other day I was fidgeting/ playing with my wedding band and it dropped down between the driver seat and the console. My wife was in the passenger seat = :bash:. I've done this since day one - as luck would have it I drop for the first time two weeks before our anniversary.

Anyway, I heard it hit some metal on the way, I believe it was the rail the seat slides on. Didn't think much of it, figured it would be "right there" under the seat when I got home. It wasn't. I moved the seat forwards, back, up, and down - did everything I could besides taking it out to find it. Thought maybe it went under the carpet by the rear floor heater under the seat - nothing.

I'm open to suggestions, otherwise I'll probably be taking the seat out this weekend. :ybrick:

Since I got my 04 (back in 04) we've lost a lot of little things between the seats and console. Gone...no luck whatsoever finding them

Coincidentally, last Sunday I was elbows deep under the passenger seat checking on one of my inverters when I noticed the carpeting was factory cut under there to allow the wiring harnesses to poke through. It is metal underneath that and might account for the metal sound you heard. I stuck my fingers in there and pulled out things we hadn't seen in years (kid trinkets, my wife's earring, an AAA battery, etc).

Hard to get to, but stuff finds it way in there.

Can't you just slide the seat front & back till you can get it.

Worst case, buy a pen size magnetic pick up tool.

A lot of stuff ends up where the carpet is cut under the seats for the air vents. Stuff just loves to roll in there.

Its okay, just do it when you're wife's not looking! She never need know that it isn't really gold and diamonds!

I say just take the seat out and look for it, a couple connectors and four bolts isn't that bad...
