On and off last year, I began looking at cars. Mostly fast cars—and certainly not SUVs. I never really understood the appeal of the SUV: either drive a car or go all the way and get a truck or a van. Then I started looking at some older vehicles like vintage Land Cruisers. Since the price on these has shot up so much in recent years, I looked into FJ Cruisers, and found those are holding their value quite well, too. Anyways, to make a long story short, I went further down this rabbit hole until I came across the 4Runner and started seeing photos of some of the builds people were doing with 5th gens. I kind of fell in love with the look of these and the fact that they haven't really changed in that past decade, so they don't have all the newfangled safety sensors and whatnot. I just missed the window of opportunity for a good deal on a 2018, so I ended up buying a 2019 in December.
