MOD: got train horns in your t4r? hornblasters install, look inside

DISCLAIMER: Train horns are not for everyone. I am sure on this forum like all the other forums, there are going to be people that will hate me for this mod and there are those that are going to love it. I own my retail store, these mods i do to my car, is a tool for me to sell and install product! Do i abuse the power of having loud horns? NO, i dont do the @SSHAT stuff you see on youtube hornblaster videos. I do use it when other drivers feel the need to double park next to a empty parking spot so they can "holla at their man" and i have to drive around them into on coming traffic. I use them when the @SSHAT that is talking on the phone and driving at the same time that isnt paying attention whiel driving.

I DO NOT ABUSE THE POWER BEHIND THESE HORNS, but i do use it when ever i can, LoL.
Yet another mod for my T4R!!

This time like the tittle states....Horn Blasters Shocker XL horns, ViAir 325c compressor, ViAir 1 Gallon tank.

Did a search and dint come up with anyone that has done this 4 horn setup. Did see other smaller horn set-ups, but nothing compares to the sound that comes from these horns. Its like a train coming at you!

Horns are going up front behind the bumper.

How much are you into these for? I know all my cars want one as much as I do. A colleague I work with has some mounted and hooked to a switch that still uses his OEM horn unless the switch is flipped which than uses the train horn in place...have you the option on your setup like his?

Typically i get $750+ for a custom install.

How i do it. train horns get triggered by the factory horn, then you get a over ride to turn off the train horns and also a switch to turn off the compressor.
My cars also get it to trigger the train horn from my Drone Mobile(www.dronemobile.com) app

Hit the 1 button and it lets out a 1 sec blast

I have done many many of these airhorn installs. in my volvo station wagon i got two ViAir 480C compressors, 4 gallon pancake tank, and 4 trumpet train horn @ 200psi. totally hidden system, third row seating, subwoofer, spare tire and another big @ss battery...Stinger SPP2150(even bigger than the 1700 LoL

So i gave you my install so you can stop slacking and get it done!

this is where i left off today...its actually a little tidier than this.

My dad is an absolute train freak. He always dreamed of putting train horns into his 05 limited. He had to trade the truck in for a rav4. Maybe I can install these on his rav4...... :heh:

cant fit anything bigger than a 1 gallon under the hood. keyword. under the hood!

can fit two compressors under the hood :thumb: for fast fill total will be about 4.25cfm

Took about 1 hour to file down some square holes for these nice switches to install. three switches.
1 for my always on with ignition Rigid Industries D2 blinding lights
1 for compressor on and off with ignition on
1 for horn over ride, switch off regular horn, switch on.....train horns on blast

Now I am patting myself on the back for this one. Remote clean filtered air for my air compressor. Now it will work in all weather conditions. Rain, sleet, snow, torrential downpour No problem.

Impressions with this setup? Compared to my other setups?

Noticed this 1 gallon will burst blast the horn fast for a good 2-3 seconds and die. BUT, this sucker refills lighting fast..like 15-20 seconds, compared to my volvos setup, i can blast for 10-12 seconds but takes 2-3 minutes to refill.

I like this setup better!

is there a reason you don't shorten the airline and make the install look cleaner.

Do you use water traps or valve heaters? water in the tank and stuck valves can be an issue in the colder climates.

whoa, quote the whole post.

air lines you talking about the ones in front of the radiator?

then good catch, there is a reason. it goes from one 1/2" line to the heavy duty valve that then splits it to four 1/4" lines. air likes the path of least resistance. so if you had a short line closest horn and a lone one to the furthest horn. the tone will be off, the shortest one getting the most sound. If you ever did a airhorn install you will see that my install is probably one of the cleanest ones you see out there

there is a water drain in on the bottom on the tank. even if there is water in the tank....i would not worry about it, these horns can blow out the water like you and i blowing out boogers from our noses!

stuck valve, not really. these valves are spring loaded to stay closed them when activated is magnetized to open. i have been installing these for the last 8 years and have learned what to do and what NOT to do.

Because I don't want to lose my spare. Why do I have to lose something to gain something else? Taking out the spare would have been real easy to do. I would have used a 8 gallon tank then and two pumps and 8 horns. That's not the goal of this install, this one was to showcase what can be done within the engine compartment.

It's great that you have a preference with a larger tank. I would love to see how you would do the same horns with a larger tank and keep everything under the hood. I have a 1.5gallon, 2 gallon and 2.5 gallon tank in stock. None of those would fit, Then ordered in this 1 gallon.

Train horns should be heard and not seen.

None of my train horn installations in my personal or customers car ever required loosing the spare tire.

Great set up there. Might check in on a smaller set up as it does great for them non attendative/ inconsiderate drivers out there.
