Monroe shocks raised front end

Okay so I took everyone's advice and replaced the front and rear original shocks with Monroe's. Some people said the front end may be slightly by about and inch. Well after installation the ride is somewhat smoother but the front end is definitely raised by about 3/4 to an inch. It doesn't drive me crazy but it is noticeable. My question is how to get it back to level. Will swapping out the rear springs do it? The rear springs are original. Is it worth the trouble to change them out and will I see a better/smoother ride if I do? Does the front being raised mean the rear springs are shot? Thanks for everyone's help.

Yes you pretty much answered your own question. I am just here to affirm your suspicion

So you changed front struts and used old springs and now you have about an inch lift?
A) Did you use the correct strut for the 3rd gen?
B) Did you installed the coil spring resting ring up-side-down?

A picture might help us to see what is wrong with your front springs.

Monroe struts don't have a movable spring perch.
If you bought the quick-struts and have new coils, that will cause the slight increase in height. Stock rear coils with any kind of high mileage on them are sagged and replacing those will level it out a bit. Remember, the taller coil in the rear goes nearest to the gas tank or it will not sit level.

Yup they were the quick struts and correct for 3rd gen. I installed them correctly and tend to agree with Yukernel.panik I think the rear coils are just sagging. The truck has well over 300K. Guess everything sags with time. Thanks again for everybody's help.

What year are you? There is only one height of Monroe quick strut for the 3G and several heights of factory rear springs according to years ('99 being the tallest). If you are a 2000, say--the lowest height 3G, that may be just the nature of the beast to inverse rake. That said, if original at 300k, new rear springs are a good call, but be careful on height/year to match those fronts.

The first set of Monroe Quick Struts that I installed on my 97 2WD, raised the front end considerably, making it look like an early 60's gasser. It settled down quite a bit over the next three years.

I just put a set on a few months ago and these did not seem to raise it as much. As soon as it warms up, I am going to slap on some new rear springs and shocks to try and even things up heighthwise and ridewise.

I just put quick struts on the front and new shocks on back. I have a 99 highlander and it's level. I guess it may settle a bit. But as of the install today, it looks perfect.

Shocks shouldn't adjust your ride height a considerable amount unless they have the shit pressurized out of them, which if they were that pressurized you wouldn't be able to compress them by hand or using your body weight. I'm not saying you don't know how high your vehicle sits, but something else is at play I suspect.

He used the Monroe quick struts in front, which are new shock and spring in one package--the definition of a strut. So those definitely CAN change the height in front, depending on what height spring he started with.

I was unaware he got an entirely new coilover since he repeatedly said "shock" which would behave as I described; however in that case I completely agree with you.
