Monthly Meets in Central AR

Hey guys. I've had a lot going on recently and haven't had time to jump on. I will look at the calendar and see when I might break free. I will get something posted and see if there are any takers. As long as everyone is up for minimal limb marks planning a route shouldn't be a problem other than watching water flow.

I suggest a 6-8 hour day in the Ouachitas, anything shorter isn't worth the drive especially for those outside of Little Rock. Once we have something in stone I will get the route published for everyone to load in their GPS of choice. :bounce:

The next two weekends (8th & 15th) will be the only time I'm available for a month or so. Also, with it getting warmer the bugs will start taking over the forest. I'll be spending my time learning to fish in the kayak on the local rivers (as time allows).

I'll be watching for replies to see when everyone would like to make best effort to meet up.

If it helps, I generally meet those that want to go in Bryant or Williams Junction at the intersection of Hwy 9 and Hwy 10. I generally head into the forest on Lake Winona Rd. but can start further north, closer to Williams Junction. I pack lunch and drinks for the day with extra just in case there are issues. My son tags along but it will depend on the date this trip since he is on summer break. My wife might tag along but again it depends on the date.

Doesn't look like there will be any takers for this weekend so I'm not going to plan anything. The wife mentioned tagging along on a trip the 15th so I'm looking at planning a trip for the 15th and anyone that wants to join is welcome to.

I will most likely put something together this weekend and post the route here for those that want to go. I may post this on TTORA also for any that want to tag along. I'll lock this down in the coming days so everyone can make plans.

I'll be at Superlift this weekend for the Ramble. I might be down for the 15th though... I think the gf is gonna be out of town anyways. As long as it's just a day thing. Which trails you thinking?

I might be able to join in. Moving this weekend but should be done by then, will have to check the Father's Day plans and stuff first.

I really don't think I'm going to be making it due to just moving into this house, just too much to do. Really want to join you guys though, I'll contact you guys later in the week if it's looking like I could get away.

I'm not able to make this one, need to go visit family since it's a holiday weekend and also not looking forward to mid 90 degree temps with no AC at all. I'm getting new tires for the truck this week, and gonna pull what parts I need to get the AC working this weekend, so I should be ready to go on the next one.

I live in Maumelle, so it would prob be easier to just shoot out highway 10 until I get to Williams Junction. Which way would you be going?

Looking forward to the trip! The route looks pretty similar to one me and a couple buddies make yearly. I tried to talk them into it, but they are busy with family stuff as well.

I have been through these areas several times and really enjoy them. The only issue with the Ouachitas is finding new areas that are passable. On the last trip [MENTION=67046]KMAYO[/MENTION] and I traveled on several trails that ended in closed gates or downed trees but were still fun to explore. I need to start carrying a chainsaw with me to clear the trails when we run into a down tree.
[MENTION=58830]ARKRWLR[/MENTION], you think anyone from TTORA would be interested in joining? If so I can post something there also.

[MENTION=23427]llennium[/MENTION], TTORA is really dead. It's not much of a club anymore. No more club functions, meetings, or even officers. The most active members, me included, have moved to a club called Razorback Land Cruisers. Despite the club name, it's a big group of different Toyota vehicle owners. So feel free to join and become a member there.

A chainsaw would probably be a good idea, especially b/c of the ferocious windy storm we had not too long ago. I don't have one or else I'd bring it.

[MENTION=58830]ARKRWLR[/MENTION] Thanks for the info. I just assumed RLC was just for LC's, I'll be sure to check them out now that I know. Ultimately I want to get a 40 and start a restore. I might be that old guy driving around town with a clean 40 everyone envy's by the time I'm done but would enjoy putting it together.

I'll throw the chainsaw in the Runner just in case.

This is just part of it.....if you waited until everyone could make it we'd probably never get out at all. If you (or anyone else) wants to plan trips, my suggestion is to throw a date out there and whoever can/wants to make it will. Thanks for stepping up and getting this put together, and hopefully one of you guys can take pics to share with those of us who can't make it.
