So I want some '99 tall springs for the rear of my '01 because the sag is so bad... I was curious if the Moog brand are just as tall and good as the OME '99 toyota ones? 99 talls are kinda hard to find, used at least, and i could buy brand new Moog springs for cheaper off ebay anyway.

Avoid the Moog springs, I bought a set for my '96, if I'm not mistaken it's a universal 96-2000 application parts number wise. They're rather soft and started to sag within a year. If not for my monroe air shocks pumped up to 40psi (also of dubious quality and damping) I think I'd be obviously sagging. My next step is to get OEM 99 tall springs and OEM rear shocks, and hopefully get back to a factory fresh ride.

After settling for a week or two, they sit at about 2 3/4 inches higher with a full tank of fuel. I think I paid $120 for coils and shocks.
Looks and rides way better too. I'm happy with it and it will hold me over until I can put a full lift on.
I agree, even if they sag in a couple years buy another set and your good to go. They are super easy to install, the shocks on the other hand suck ass to remove ESPECIALLY If they are original.
Streetcreeper has the exact spring/shock combo as me and I love the ride it has. It's just a nice confident ride going down the road.

Is anybody running the moogs on the front also or only rears? Any thoughts on putting them on the front?

From everything I've read and learned—I agree with your sentiments. I don't think I will ever buy any critical components made by Moog.
However, I'm poor enough that I'm ok dropping $30 trying out coil springs. I mean, it just a bent metal rod; no moving parts...hell it doesn't even have "parts". Even Moog can't **** that up too bad.
If it fails and starts to sag before I buy a full lift, I'll just throw another set on. Hell, my brake pads cost more than my rear coils...
I think the moog bashing gets thrown out of hand on this forum. It's a damn spring, all it can do is sag. Mine have been on for a month and have settled maybe a 1/2" so I think they are fine springs. I have personally run a LOT of moog parts including there tie rods and balljoints and have never had an issue out of any of their parts.
The 4runner moog balljoints maybe be junk, I don't know as mine are oem toyota. How ever I can say that with my previous trucks (Chevy, Mazda, and toyota pickups) never had an issue and they were bagged and a couple body dropped and one hopper. End rant, sorry.
I have them on the front and back.
No sagging.... And didn't settle at all after 2.5 years.

And, are the tall coil springs exclusive to the highlander version, or does it extend to the limited and other trim levels?

Part Numbers:
Front right 48131-35400 L=368mm
Front left 48131-35350 L=374mm
Rears ( same for both ) 48231-35210
Color Codes:
Fronts: Blue/Pink(left) & Blue/Yellow (right)
Rears: Green/Red (the green looks almost yellow after 15+ years)
They came on most '99 SR5's (including mine) and Limiteds that came with 16" wheels from the factory, not just Highlanders. I'll have a set of rears available soon, as I'm swapping in OME 906's. The unloaded height is pretty good, but they sag plenty with a load after 15 years. I really wouldn't want them.

I agre . I hate moog but it's just a coil. Not like it's a ball joint that can fail.
