Moog rear coils....Yay or Nay???

1996-2000 Toyota 4Runner Coil Springs - Moog 81041 - Rear, OE replacement

My goal is to get my rig back up to stock height or maybe just a little rake to the rear end. i dont want to do a spacer specially when these springs are almost as cheap as a spacer kit would be. but does anyone have experience with these or something that might be a bit better??? remember... i dont want lift. i just dont want a saggy rear

I'm in the same boat. I want the height back and maybe even a bit of natural lift and it's been said numerous times that the 99 tall coils (from the highlander edition) give you an inch of a natural lift because it's taller and will fit 3rd gens.

If i did this how much all around lift would i end up with? would i have to get different shocks for those springs?

im a noob to 3rd gens if you havnt figured that out. and trust me i have been reading through other related posts to try to figure it out on my own.

You would get an inch above stock height. Very mild lift visually.

you know there was a recall for the saggy rear springs right? toyota will replace them for free if it hasn't been done already.

I would replace the shocks while you have them out man.

If you're sagging as much as you say you are, the shocks are probably shot as well as the springs.

Just go ahead and do the both at the same time. No need to do it all a couple weeks later....

If you have a 2wd, just getting the 4wd springs is 1" taller. If you don't have the '99, the '99 springs one more inch taller. I think the 15" stock wheels may have been 1" shorter too, not sure. Anyway, the 99 coils lifts my 98 2wd to level or a little more. But they're not staying even. One side is a little higher and it is kind of irritating.

Get Doc's '99 coils and replace the shocks with fresh OEM ones. I have the part number for the shocks if you want to order them yourself, it would be around $80ish, I think, for the two rear shocks.

Moog? NO. cheap.

Are you using the OE (tokico or monroe equivalent) rear shocks with the 906s? This sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. A slight lift, with a little rake, and a comfortable ride - as this is my daily driver.

i put some miles on this set up and liked it. I used the bilstein HDs all around. i have a 00' so im not sure how much rake you could end up with but mine as around 3/4" i think. I've read good things over on yota about the HDs paired with the 880s up front.

I've been running Moog 81041 rear coils for a year now and they have been fine. I wouldn't spend the money for OEM springs and I wasn't ready to buy all 4 springs and shocks, so these were the best option. They ride just like stock springs should.

My Moog coils are already sagging in the rear after 1 year of use; the Moog fronts are doing just fine. I'm going to get some OME 906's to replace them.

I've been searching and reading posts for months on here as well as Yotatech. I've become 'decision paralyzed' from too much information. I'm literally overloaded. The time has come however, the nice weather is upon us, and I need to make a decision.

The ride now is non-existent...the shocks just froze up. At this point, anything would be an improvement.

I'm going to go with OME 906's w/ Monroe Spectrums for the rear, and Monroe Quick-Strut from O'Reillys for the front. Cost will be about $550 and should provide almost 2" rear lift, with slight rake on my 97 LTD. Larger tires are not in the future.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?
