Moonroof Issue

Finally found the time to investigate the clicking noise my moonroof was making just as it moved into the fully open position.

The long metal arm that powers the wind deflector movement on the right side appears to be seized. Won't even forcibly move! I took off the dome/map light unit to expose the motor and removed it as well. The motor appears to be working fine. Looking up at the exposed long and white plastic toothed ribbon it appears to be stripped. I guess something got jammed and the metal gear of the motor just sheered off the plastic teeth. I'm not sure how to disassemble that toothed white plastic piece any further but i guess its going to have to be replaced. I read that this is a common problem that was flagged bo016-06 on TSB. Does anyone know how to go about replacing that white plastic toothed ribbon? Seeing as the left one still works and powers the wind deflector movement fine, I guess I could just run one temporarily? Would love to hear any tips on how to spot that loud clicking noise temporarily though.
