More flex in the back

Hey guys,
Have put bilstein 5100s with superflex coils in the back, along with the extended swaybar links from a 2nd gen in.

Went out today and im not exactly UNhappy with the rear flex, but was wondering what else I can do here.

Things that come to mind are new trailing arms (wanna avoid), take out endlinks (unsure on that, any advice?), different springs?
The shocks are the extended ones and im pretty sure about 22.5 inches.

You can always go with a long travel rear suspension set up. Dobinsons has one for a decent price, involves longer springs, longer shocks and bump stop extensions.

Only way you are going to get more flex is by going to long travel.

Suspension setup in sig. No rear sways, don't even notice.

Not really great flex pics, grabbed them from some video.....I am really really bad at remembering to take pics/vids when we go out...

Metal tech also does a long travel kit. You can do tundra shocks on the rear of the 4runners to get a little extra travel out of them. Then there's also this I found on a FJ forum.

Would better bushings in all rear control arms be a help here, such as Super Pro?

Just going longer travel shock is only going to get you part way there. If you’re running factory links in the rear they will bind before you get full benefit of a long travel setup.


If you REALLY want a lot of travel you can go 3link or reverse triangulated 4 link with super long links and then you’ll really have long travel in the rear

In your first photo it looks like the spring is completely off of the lower spring perch, is there not a possibility of the spring not engaging the lower perch properly when coming back down and causing a major issue?

This isn't my rig, and yes his springs were at risk of coming out at that point in time, he has some spring keepers to keep them from coming out. I want to go a similar route just with limited down travel and possibly running the ORI struts to get rid of the spring completely.
