I've come the the realization that my TRD Pro kit has netted me 1.5" of overall lift, rather than the 2.5" I thought I had.
Did some research and found stock hub to fender for our 4th gens is 19" up front and 21" (https://www.toyota-4runner.org/1435178-post16.html). So, while I netted 2.5" of total lift up front, by hub to fender is 20.5", which leads me to conclude I only have 1.5" of lift over stock height. My old suspension had sagged an inch.
I want 2.5" of front end list, so about 1 more inch.
I see the following 3 options:
1) New springs
2) Preload spacer
3) Top plate spacer
I'd prefer to go the route of new springs, however, I'm not sure what springs I'd need to go with. I think TRD pro springs are rebranded eibach 600# springs. However, I do not know this for certain. So I'm not sure what spring would give me more lift.
This leads me to the second two options: spacers. I understand they'll degrade ride quality and dont compare to a pure suspension lift, but most of my driving is on road and I don't do any serious off road driving. I like the idea of spacers because I'll know for certain the kind of net lift they'll give me.
Thoughts?
Also a question: isnt using a preload spacer the same as setting struts at a higher perch? The TRD Pro front struts are the 6112s, but without the different perch options.
