The 2006 Motor Trend Truck of the Year ...Honda Ridgeline

Same non-truck every other mag is raving about. WTF is right, and if you don't believe it go read the Ridgeline web forums and hear from actual owners. They love it, but it's not much of a truck when it comes to towing and off-road isn't even an option.

I considered one to replace my 2000 4R, but got a 06 4R v8. Spent a little more, and VERY happy about it.

Hmmm... I thought it had to be a complete redesign to be eligible, or may be it's just for MT's Car of the Year.

I'll have my Tacoma anyday of the week over the Ridgeline. Despite what the mags rave about the Ridgeline, consumers feel otherwise.

Only truly new or substantially revised trucks were considered with the condition that they be available for public sale by January 1, 2006.

So what was substantially revised on the Ridgeline? Wasn't it around last year? I thought that was the reason the Tacoma wasn't included. Yet again, Toyota gets snubbed..

The Ridgeline looks like a great vehicle on paper. I guess it depends on how you define a truck. It is well thought out and has a ton of features. But no transfer case. I'd have to drive one before passing judgement. Motortrend did and they like it. You can pick up a RTL with moonroof and navi for 32k.
