no i know what diameter speakers fit but mounting depth can affect what speakers i can buy, so my question remains does anyone know the mounting depth for the from speakers on the 97 limited????

what kind of wattage are you throwing to those kappas, they are two ohms so the amp i have would be givin em 150rms, and how do they sound do you like them??, thats the sub im thinking about getting too how does the whole system sound and let me know what u are running to each speaker please!!! also what are those cornfed spacers for?? audio or 4x4ing??

i dont knwo what the exact depth is either but all i can say is that i was able to make a spacer out of 3/4inch mdf and the speaker fit just fine under the panel with some slight modification of the panel

if youre really that worried about mounting depth you could always try measuring it for yourself

ive honestly never heard of anyone complaining abotu the mounting depth in the 4runner.

well heres the thing, im up at college and my car is at home in the garage so if i had it i wouldn't be asking all these questions but i don't have it.

I have a 5 channel amp powering everything. 105W max to each speaker/component, so about 40 RMS i think. The sub has 230W max, so just over a 100RMS. For me, that's plenty, but I may upgrade to a 5ch alpine in the future.

I love the sound, it's fantastic. For a mainstream speaker you really can't go wrong. Everything is very musical and tight. Unless you want to spend money on a nice Focal sub and pricey speakers, you can. But car audio can only get so good since the acoustics limit the quality. Home audio is where its at.

Honestly, I don't think you're going to have mounting problems in the front, those component speakers looked pretty damn thick. You'll need special mounts made for the rear door speakers though.
