My old 1998 Dodge 4x4 got 13 mpg whether I stood on it or babied it.

My old 2005 F-150 4x4 got 14.2 city if I really babied it.

I'm getting 19.2 city babying the 4Runner, so I'm not gonna complain.

A note on running the tank dry - don't do that too often... The fuel cools the electric fuel pump and you'll be less than happy if you have to prematurely replace the fuel pump. I haven't done it on the 4Runner, but have on other vehicles and replacing an in-tank electric fuel pump is no picnic. :

No way, man. I'm always in the far right hand lane. I have no reason to be out there mucking up the traffic. The funny thing is, right now there's construction on my whole route to and from work so the speed limit is at 55 right now. So I'm actually driving the speed limit.

I drive 40miles round trip to work and back on the interstate and am getting about 20mpg. I normally drive 70mph with a Stock 1998 SR5 4Runner with Toyo A/T tires stock diameter.
