Mr.4runner's build thread

Next project I have been wanting to do has been the cargo storage drawers. This is what I have so far.

Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow or Sunday. Depending on what the weekend brings my way.

What thickness of plywood did you use? What is the depth of the cubby? I plan on building mine soon and might copy yours!

Good looking rig!

Thank you.
I went off of this thread I found online. Used the main idea and just changed a few things. I just used 1/2" plywood. Looking back I should of used some stronger better looking wood. I might make new drawers later with different wood

Check this out. He gave good details.

so my wife has been out of town visiting her parents in Texas. While she has been gone I did a few things to my truck since i had the time.

i black out my tail lights:

Satoshi Grille

And best of all, I finally got some sliders. DEMELO OFFROAD hybrid sliders. Found them for $270 already powder coated paid cash so no tax and local pick up.

Since i dont know how to weld. I had my uncle weld them on.

since i decided to black out my lights everything else just didn't look right. So i decided to black out my emblems and the plastic around the license plate while i was it.

after just doing the tail lights

End result, its hard to see because of the shadows from the palm trees, but i'm happy with the outcome

so today i decided to finally add some lights to my roof rack. i only have 2 up front right now the other 2 are on order. I also added some back up lights which should help in he desert. I don"t have any night shots with the lights on yet. i will one i get them all installed.

Painting my spoiler is next on my list. I KNOW IT'S BAD

Went to breakfast with family yesterday and my runner didnt start back up. Just got a click every time I would try to start it. Right away I was pretty sure it was the starter. And what a pain in the ass it was to switch it out. This is what I found when I pulled it out. Don't know how it could have gotten this bad.

Love the roof rack! I have been working on a design for mine and I like the sorter ones better than the full length. Same with the round lights, something about 4 lights looks better than a light bar all day!!!

Good looking wheels too.

Thanks man. I'm with you on the shorter ones too. I want to build one later one that fits perfect on my runner. I found this one at a fab shop for $145. So for the price I couldn't be picky. But it's meant for a full size so it hangs over the sides just a bit. But on e I make one still debating on keeping the these lights or going with led bars.

Rigs looking great. About the lights...are they hid? How are u likin them. They look like the ones all over ebay...just curious if they are the same? Keep up the great work[/QUOTE]

Thank you. And yes there are like those eBay ones. They are 7" inch 55w hid. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet except for just on my street. I have 2 spots and 2 floods. And the spots go out pretty dam far. I have a trip to the desert next month I'll see how bright they really are.

Finally got a chance to take out the runner. We went on a riding trip to Johnson valley. Didn't off road it much just went to take the kids on few rides and took it to go shooting. And got a chance to try out my lights.

When we got to cap everyone forgot to take some lights so we had to use my back up lights to light the camp. Ha ha

What a great transformation haha I may have missed it but where did you get your roof rack?
EDIT: found where you got it haha. I want one just like it!
