What: 2016 Limited in Pearl white. We bought it new a few months ago.
Why: I wanted more tire on the road and couldn't do it with the stock wheels, so I searched... and searched. I ended up buying wheels and tires yesterday ahead of an impending road trip.

If anyone wants to chime in, I'm all ears, and here is why. Our 4runner is taking on a "look" that is not really what I would go for. I just could not find what I wanted in wheels (limited clone in 7.5 or 8") ... but then again, I've never done anything... ANYTHING to any vehicle I've owned in the past (almost 30 years) except for maintenance.
I really like the "city" look of the Limited with stock wheels, but it had just a hint too much of grocery-getter/soccer-mom.

Details:
Mod-ish 1: Salex organizers for the glove box and the center console. wow. It should come this way. Huge win.
Mod 2, sort of: -Toyota all-weather matts in the floorboards and weather tech cargo mat in the rear.
Mod 3: I had the driver & passenger windows tinted (as close as can be with the yellow cast to the glass - used ceramic) to match the back windows.
Mod 4: Took it to get new shoes.
Wheels: MB Vortex in Matte Black 18x8.5 -with an offset that puts the tire out almost even with the fender flare - without using a spacer.
Tires: Michelin LTX M/S in 275/65/18. There is minimal rub on front left at full 7/8 lock in reverse. - heat gun will make an appearance.
Mod 5: Running Boards... The chrome killed me next to the Matte Black wheels, so I took them off. My wife was a bit sad (we split time in the 4runner), saying the 4runner looked too plain. She was right... minimalist and the chrome trim don't go together. So today, I Plasti-Dip'd the chrome on the running boards and put them back on.
Upcoming:
1) hoping to get .75" top-plate spacers up front. She only has ~5K miles on her, and I just can't see ripping out a factory warranted suspension that rides just fine... in order to level it (off roading will be minimal... at best).
2) I'm going to ask Toyota to reset the Transmission memory and I'm going to pull the battery for 15min to reset ECU at the next time the tank is empty... I'm going to switch to 91 octane to see if I notice any performance or MPG difference (though those two are mutually exclusive).
Interesting find: When I started to prep the running boards, I noticed that each one had a fairly large deflection on the underside -- like they had ben hit pretty hard. ?? They also had a slew of sizable rock dings on the bottom rail. Seeing this made me even more convinced I wanted to put them back on. The way they keep road grime, tar, and rocks off the lower 1/4 of the door makes it worth it to me.
We have a ~1,300 mile trip coming up before too long, and I'm excited to
