The alignment shops couldnt get +4 caster without moving the UCA setting to +4 rather than the middle(SPC logo showing) that does +2.

Think I should move it back to neutral and have them try again?

Right now, if you left everything else alone and just adjusted this one eccentric outward, your caster would be greater than what it is right now. It will also effectively give you negative camber. Which then you would adjust the upper control arm.

I had my 4x4 shop set the UCA to +4 on just the drivers side since they couldn't even get it to +4 with the UCA on +2. The passenger side is set neutral (+2) and they got it to 4.0*. The drivers side did something like 5.2 in it's current UCA setting.

I'll have to get the UCA set back to neutral and go to a different shop I guess. It's weird to me that only the drivers side rubs at 4.0 and not the passenger but the caster is achieved differently on one side.

I got a minor scuff on my left slider a couple of weeks ago at Black Fin - the person who politely hit it while backing out of the space next to me got a lot worse :cheers:

They were mounting my tires when they noticed the 32mm carriage nut on the LR UCA on the passenger side was missing! Wonder how long that's been gone. Could have been a bad day had I lost the spindle on the highway...

Imagine my surprise when they realized my LR UCA was SNAPPED at the weld during my last alignment....my guess is I drove around for about a month like that. :redbrick:

New Wheels

I picked up some 17" Tundra Wheels in rough shape for $100 on CL with intentions on painting them.

Here's how the started (notice the bubbling and flaking of the original coating):

I used aircraft stripper to remove the original coating. This was a pain beyond all pains.

Here's the first one completed. This is after stripping, sanding, 3 coats of etching primer, 3 coats of color, and 2 coats of matte clear:

I had them mounted on friday. Here's a few quick shots:

Also, in regards to the UCA nut that went missing. It was actually the UCA-to-frame mount, not the carriage nut. Basically the nut that holds the bushing-area onto the frame fell off.

A fresh one from toyota went on, torqued to specs. I had my mechanic re-torque and locktite everything in sight - for safety.

May I ask why you went with wheel spacers I'm thinking about going with the same 3" spacer lift from toytec and then running 285 70 17 nitto trail grapplers

Spacers are for the wider stance. Purely cosmetic in this case.
