Well it has taken a while, but I finally have the trailer stripped of paint and all of the holes welded shut. I sprayed It down with ospho tonight so tomorrow I will flip it over and do my axle flip and also spray down the bottom.

You should hold them for a long time so I can get money after I finish my suspension (whenever that'll happen).

Figured I should get a coat of primer on tonight if I want to get this thing together so I can bring it back to the homestead this weekend. time for

So because of school I am running low on funds. This means I have some choices to make about how I want to handle the rest of the trailer. I am interested in what you guys think I should do.

1. Build my step fenders and uprights for the moveable RTT rack and use my thule cross bars to mount the tent for now.

2. Build my lid and mount the tent to that for now.

3. Wait to build anything and mount the tent somehow with the crossbars.

Thoughts? Just so you guys can get an Idea this Is what I am shooting for it to look like.

Got the underside all bedlined. This rustoleum bed liner works great and looks good. Time will tell on how durable it is, but I am happy for now. Only thing I noticed is that you need about 3 times as much as you think you would need to get everything coated.

I like the new retrofit,the square lenses suit overall shape of the headlight IMO. Any pics of the retrofit while under construction or tips on installing them?

Nope not this time, I built them between classes so I didn't have much time to take pics. The headlights were off the truck thrusday at 11:00 PM and then back on by Noon on friday lol.

That was quick LOL. So how are they compared to your previous FX-R retro?

Not completely sure yet since I am a bulb down, but the initial results look promising. From what I can tell they are just as good as the FX-R's

I think you might have inspired me to take on a conversion before I install my ARB....currently I have the TYC lights, installed by previous owner.....so it looks like I need to source a set of '99 + lights for the housing and swap over my glass from the TYC once I do the projection installation?

BTY...love the trailer I'm currently keeping an eye out for an old m114 I believe that the right name. It's an old willys jeep trailer, looking to do the same type of rooftop install. Looks like you have an excellent start to a very fun project!

I would just use a set of 99+ lights since they have clear lenses, and TYC lights are not the best quality. I am working with a friend on his retro right now and the tyc lights are no where near as easy to work with as OEM 99+'s. But In a pinch the TYC's would work lol

And thanks yeah mine is the civilian version of the m416 (super popular trailer), its a Bantam T3-C, and as far as I can tell it is a 1946, but not sure lol.

Also got my trailer color matched. Now all that is left to do is install the lights, paint the fenders, and hit the road. My bedliner for the tub has not come in the mail yet

Thanks, It's coming along slow, but sure. I am taking my time so I don't make any (more) mistakes. We are going camping the weekend of the 4th so It has to have the lid done by then.

How did you mount it? I still haven't mount my Toyota badge as it doesn't have the pegs to go in the grill.

I use some stuff I got from work. It is 3M VHB, its the stuff that we use to hold our glass to the stainless on the doors, along with a bunch of other stuff. It won't come off lol...

Some info about VHB:

Pressure sensitive adhesive bonds on contact with no drying time
Virtually invisible fastening helps keep surfaces smooth; no unsightly rivet heads or weld marks
Continuous bond distributes stress over entire length of the joined surfaces
Creates a permanent seal against water, moisture, salt and more
