We may just have to look and see if there are aftermarket companies that would be interested in replicating this piece. Maybe a passenger side could be taken and have a "mirror mold" made if that makes any sense. I have no idea of the costs involved in injection molding.
All the people I've talked to say that the part number is invalid on their computers. I had one guy call a distributor and confirmed that these are gone and he also said that Toyota does not have a history of putting parts back into production.
This sucks.

Have you guys thought of using the rubber mud flaps off of the Tacomas? I'm sure the screws won't match up, but there should be a way to rig them up.
They would flex over obstacles and do their job as far as keeping debris away from the paint.

They still won't look right. I remember COB ran them for a bit when he installed his SR5 flares.
Not the best pic, but you can see how it doesn't match well.
I contacted a parts dealer on IH8Mud regarding these mud flaps asking if he might be able to get these back in production with enough demand. We'll see.
Just an FYI for anyone viewing this thread in the future:
The flaps installed the above photo were the correct type for the SR5 flares and fit perfectly. After painting the flares, they came out like new. Sorry T4R2014, I never ran those flares with the non-flare mudguard. Perhaps it was the angle or the sheer difference in color between the two that may have been confusing. My front left flare is also a little damaged and does not line up properly in the front.

Since the stock SR5 flares are still unobtanium, did the sidesteps mod today. Pretty self explanatory project, but I thought it turned out looking pretty decent.
Left a little more material than the OP. Also, when just attached with the 2 fender well bolts, it was flopping around, way too loose - cut a small hole near the inside back, there's a perfect hole for sliding a ziptie through right above it, mounted nice and solid with that addition. Also worth finding some flush-headed hardware to replace the 10mm bolts (if you're running 265/70/17s on stock suspension and your tires are getting cozy with the pinch weld all the damn time).

There used to be a guy on here selling 3d printed caps for them. Unsure of his status though, I'm talking probably 2 years ago.

I got some from brad this last summer. they fit perfect. I would go take a picture for you but it's -14 outside right now.

he does not list them on his page but you might be able to request some. it takes a while to get them but I think it's the only option. I know it takes forever to 3d print them and they are a pain to make.

the finish was good enough for me. I know others have sanded them and epoxy coated them. this is going to be subjective for you, depends on how sensitive you are about that kind of stuff.
I think I also picked up 6x of these, 3 per side I think, my old ones were super rusty.
this will also give you a pretty good idea of what they look like. you can see some artifacts from the printing process.
