Mud flap build?? (jaos replica)

you totally ruined it for me!! damnit i've almost lost the motivation to make them, those links are just what i was looking for.. but if i can find some time i may just go ahead and make my own first, then after that fails order them :)

You could always just buy the sparco's and add the metal strip and cable. That material would probably be better than the cutting boards or the craft EVA.

Who am I kidding, that material IS better than the cutting board or craft EVA.

Pffff where's the fun in that! Okay I am in line for food at Ikea. Quite upset.. The packs come with one green and one red.. So anyway I won't be defeated. I got 4 packs.. If I make a second set of ugly green ones anyone want em?? Or do I burn them

As far as the metal on the bottom is concerned ... you could just get some sheet aluminum (sold in all different sizes) sandwich them on the mudflap of your choice and rivet then drill them

Yea if you had a store close to you I would go in and browse their selection and see which you like best ... personally I would go with aluminum over galvanized steel to save a little weight and be less stressful to whichever rubber you decide to use

just what i was thinking! but then i also thought this would require a hell of a lot less work.. pretty good dimensions too

Yeah, that is exactly what I was thinking of.

Oooh, I love those $1.50 hot dog soda packages. I look forward to seeing the jobn nyou do.

these arn't just regular 600 dollar mudflaps. I saw a guy with them once and they were flapping diamonds all over the place. well worth the money i say

OK, here we go...problem solved.

Chinese Jaos knock-offs for $15.00!

The print on the flap appears to say:

Go! Go! Jaos
producted with pvc not broken
4x4 magic power mud guard series

Awesome! haha.

lol, time to scrap all my supplies and pick up those GO GO's

okay well phase one is done, i also managed to put some paint on my center caps.. the rig would just look plain ugly if they didnt match............

total supplies for the job cost about 40 bucks

8 cutting boards (4 are red)
4 feet of zinc plate
aircraft wiring
special screws/bolts

Ill go into more detail on each step if anyone would like when i get some time, still neet to add the cables and possibly put some sort of logo on? and cut them to size

Well done little project.
The rear sag. What coils do you have? How much do you want to lift it?

Thanks! Well I have lc 7.5 wraps in the back matched my the reach shocks from the same land cruiser. The shocks are toast tho, and upfront I have bilstein 5100 adjustables. I might just drop the front down a bit, they are currently set at the highest (most lift) setting, not sure if I'd want to drop it 1 or 2 notches

IMO black would have been a better color choice since they look out of place on your truck and draw too much attention away from the rest of the truck and mudflaps shouldn't be a focal point. Well done work tho' but the color...

Ya agreed. But I also think with a large black logo (maybe TRD ETC) painted on then it will take away from all the red. I'll give you some better pics in a tiny bit. Got all 4 on

You said it. You did it. Nice job! As I stated in an earlier post, I'm a sucker for red rally style flaps.
