Muffler cut off

So my friend has been cutting off my other friends mufflers and they sound great on thier cars. He is trying to talk me into to cutting off right before the muffler. Should I do it? Would there be a power gain or mpg improvement or is it just a bad idea?

No, no, for ****s sake no. Sounding loud and obnoxious is not the same thing as sounding good, and the days when you could get any kind of performance increase by hacking off your exhaust are long gone. Cutting off your muffler is the equivalent of pinning a playing card in the spokes of your bike - you don't go any faster, and you annoy the piss out of everyone that has to listen to that racket.

Your friend is an idiot. Do yourself and all your neighbors and everybody else who hears your truck a favor and leave your muffler on.

try a 10 series flowmaster or a glasspack.....ive had both and love em....it adds a little depth to the exhaust....youtube it....

There's no power gain and you'll probably lose a little MPG. If you want a better sound, replace your muffler with the can of your choice but don't delete it.

Thank for stressing that point.
