Muffler/Exhaust Dilemna

The plan is to move the muffler back 3". That should give me just enough room to install the resonator into place just in back of the rear crossmember but in front of the Magnaflow. Either way, I will make it work. I also plan to clean up and re-weld some of the hangers that look awful IMO considering that I had an exhaust shop actually do it.

I'm also going to add a small flex tube just behind the rear O2 as well. It should help keep the exhaust manifolds intact with the vibration.

Honestly I should have just done it all myself to begin with. It would have come out better.

i always thought it was bad to have straight through for these motors. cause of the loss of low end stuff. I dont like the raspy ricey sound.

tough choice to replace the stocker as mine is wearing for sure.

local exhaust guy said as long as you have the cat (for back preasure) you can really add anything you want as mufflers go.

i was like Huh.

And probably looks nothing like his at all underneath either lol....unless you have a solid front axle.

Interesting that a tailpipe would actually make it louder.

I have the 14" magna flow and it sounds nice. Its pretty loud, I have had people say they can hear me on the gas a few blocks away. Its quieted down significantly since i cut the tail pipe off at the axle, and put some good sized dents in the muffler with some rocks. Im way happier with the quieter sound, but im sure you will think the 14" is plenty loud

Yes, I was able to find a small turbo style muffler. Round, 6" in diameter and 18" long. It barely fit, but i think it will be fine. MUCH quieter at hwy speeds and just a better sound all around.

I might try the Super turbo from Daynomax (Walker)

but we shall see once I get it installed
