Muffler... Ohhhpinions?

A smaller muffler is going to give you a much louder sound than you would normally get with a larger muffler. The larger or longer the muffler, the less sound you will get. The smaller or shorter the muffler, the more sound you will get.
 
Not trying to thread-jack, but this thread had reminded me that I need to get mine welded up, so I went to the exhaust shop today, got quoted $90 for muffler welding, resonator delete, and side-exit with the TRD tip. Whenever it gets done, I'll post a video of a 4th gen running it. I find it odd that there are no videos of it on a 4th gen, as it seems to be (moderately) popular.

I have a flowmaster 40 series in my 3rd gen with a V6. It sounds pretty beefy and Ive had plenty of compliments in the sound. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome, just my 2 cents.

BTW: I also live in Denton and had it put on for $50 which I thought was a fair price.
 
I had all the mufflers made on my 3.4 v6 dbl cab taco no matter what after awhile they all turned to ricey & that was after I installed the cherry bomb before to mellow them out ! Get something larger 22" or better .
 
Flow 40 4.7 V8 info

I just had a Flowmaster 40 single exit done yesterday with my tax return, and I loveeee it. Im not running a resonator so its pretty throaty. Sound peaks at 2000rpm and can be heard clearly inside the cab. I don't mind it because my music is on most of the time. Glad to finally have a v8 and couldn't give up the chance to actually do a loud exhaust system. :eyebrows:

I just got my 50 series SUV in today also. Pretty stoked to get it on... The big "first mod" on my T4R.

I picked the 50 SUV because of a video I found on YouTube. It sounded exactly like what I was looking for. We'll find out soon!
 
Curious, would changing the muffler or exhaust have any effect on the awful smell that comes when accelerating or is that more from the catalytic converter?
