So 1/2 of the multi-information cluster is out (the light is out). Anyone know of an easy way to replace the bulb?

However, I wonder if there is an easy way to replace the LCD backlight without dismantling the entire dash

What do you mean by multi-info panel?

If you mean, the aircon/climate control display? because there ar only two displays with LCD...Then, there's a screw in that compartment below the aircon display, once removed, you can pull that climate control. Remember the location of the bulbs from the thread link above...replace..
