Multiple shops telling me they cannot install OME 881s with Bilstein 5100s

Did they say why they couldn't?

One shop said “ OME front coils can only be installed with OME Nitrocharger struts and coil seats ”
The other “ the OME springs require the OME spring seats that are different than what Bilstein provides we would not do this install.”
Sounds like they don't want to do it and are covering their a**es. They'll work. Why don't you rent spring compressors and do it your self?

I don’t have enough tools and lost access to my shop due to covid, so I’m okay with paying.

Surprising for sure. I've done mine and others with a spring compressor and if you were close I would help. Maybe there is a forum member near you that can help. Don't know if you have a local lockdown order where you are at due to covid 19.
I'm actually running 881s up front due to my front bumper and also have the bilstein 5100s so i know this can be done. My mechanic is just a 1 car garage type of shop, so if he can do it, the other shops should be able to no problem. Normally i hear something from him if it's something weird but I heard nothing so I assumed this was a straight up remove and replace like you would any shock/struts.

That is the first I have ever heard of that. In fact, the Bilstein/OME combo is quite popular.

thats nice, but its a 4th gen in the write up and we are in 3rd gens, minor differences but idea is similar. I know I have seen a similar write up using a 3rd gen.

I get that, I have a 3rd gen as well and it's the same process. Also, I just installed OME 880s and Bilstein 5100s last weekend so go ahead and get to it!
