My 03' Build Thread

thanks you captain obvious hahaha jk :) but yea a car wash ripped it off.... thats why there is a tread on teh 4th gens saying "Need new off road lights now" hahaha. but congrats on being the first brave person to say something hahah

prob will paint em black this summer just cause i decided paying 400+ to look good isnt a good idea.... maybe to some but not to me.

i got stuck horribly today in about 8 inches of snow turning around at a friends house. took about an hour and a full gas tank to get out by myself.... i guess thats pretty good.... so props to toyota, the i-force, and LSD hahaha..... still cant wait for 4 wheel a 4 wheel drive 4runner.

LMAO...samething happened to me the other day at my friends yard. about 6-8" of snow....got stuck for about 10 minutes...but was able to handle it and get out kinda quick moving the front tires to the sides and swinging back and forth. The stock tires really really sucks I hate them..Cant wait to get my new ones.

new snow pictures.... not the best ha.

So you did get out in it.

I came home this weekend and was out in it last night. Had a lot of fun.

How much did you get on your side of town?

well this should just about end the my 4th gen build thread as you can see in my sig that its for sale.... when sold im buying a 3rd gen most likely but 4wd. so im kinda excited. :) so i have found some that i would like to buy but i have to sell the 4th gen first. thanks to everyone on here that helped me out with the 03 t4r and i cant wait to show yall the new t4r ill bring home soon. wish me luck on finding a good deal! cheers!

well prob not cause they are too hard to find with lockers and it would just be too much to add front and rears to make it even descent off road cause the open diffs from what i herar suck

okay so update on the sale status.... took it off the market as my dad has too much to do right now with work so it will be back up for sale in prob a month in a half minimum and 2 months max. i am also kinda tired of looking for runners so im going to take a break until i put the 4th gen back up for sale as there is no real reason to look if i cant buy anything at the time haha. will update the sig.

Why not just SAS it? I am starting a SAS project on my Runner soon, already talk to the fab shop and found the LC80 axle and driveline but still have to find the transfer case.

You can do all these for less then most people think.

but maybe... if you hurry up and do yours while i still got mine i might look into it... but i dont think sas'd runner ad a dd would work out too well

good news for anyone who actually cares besides me haha.... after going to our new mountain now more then 5 times we have realized (me and my dad) that even in dry conditions such as yesterday and earlier today it is Very hard to get up the mountain to out cabin... its a 3.8 miles drive from the begininng of the dirt road to our cabin with very windy and steep inlines and descents. we had my dads truck in 2wd and it was super rough, and we were spinning tires most of the time. if it is just wet it will be about 3x harder of a drive and if its raining hard it will be about 5x harder. my dads truck is 4wd but he is switching it with a 2010 chevy 1500 2wd because its a company he was denied when he asked for 4wd b/c they dont give the southern sales reps 4wds. when october rolls around and it starts to ice and snow a little bit it will be virtually impossible in a 2wd with chains.

so now if you have read this for the good news:

-im keeping my 4runner for a few more months and then we will sell it and get ANOTHER 4Runner!!!!!!!! yay.... most likely a 2003 V8 4wd. my dad says he would kinda want a V6 for better gas mileage so idk what will get. which now brings me to the question about the 4wd in V6's because i know its selectable between 2 and 4wd. i have heard that if you leave it in 2wd for a while that it wont engage in 4wd but i think that is because some ppl never used 4wd for a few years. and you can run a V6 in full time 4wd correct? so thats the latest update for anyone who cares haha. thanks! :D
