My 04 V-6 Oil Analysis Report

Here it is for all those who are interested.

Mobil 1 Syn OEM Toyota Filter

5200 miles, 2700 miles was a 2 week road trip all highway. About 75% hwy miles overall. I switched to Amsoil motor oil and filters, I plan to do another analysis at 5 K. Of course I will post report at that time.

Hey, Call me a dork, but I think the analysis is very interesting! Quick turn around too, I mailed it to blackstone last friday so thats 5 days counting the weekend!!

I will be doing mine when the time comes. I installed the by-pass system and they recommend an analysis at 25K. Should be very interesting.

20 bucks, the TBN is 10 dollars extra, the kit is free. The TBN determines the amount of additives left in the oil. As in , how worn out the oil is.

I did mine recently and it came back with a positive test for glycol. This suggests that coolant is getting in the engine oil!! The truck is an 03' with 36,000kms and is at the dealership as we speak. Without the test, damage would have been occuring and I would have had no way of knowing.

Looks like a pretty good report. I probably should have my fluids analized at 40k miles. I mean the 4Runner fluids

WOuld be good to do engine, diffs, tranny and transfer.

I haven't submitted any of my current cars oil samples to Blackstone yet (I did an old car of mine).

The real value of your oil analysis will be the trend you will get when you do your next one. I'd be interested in watching the Iron to see if it moves up or down on the next time around.

Im looking forward to the next analysis myself. Next sample will be at 5k on Amsoil 5W-30 and Amsoil super duty oil filter.

Once I get a good base line with amsoil I will go for the extended drain.
