My 1985 Nissan 300ZX

A couple people asked about the z recently. Figured I'd show it off a bit

Bought new in 1985 (still have the sticker) by my father as his first new care when he was still at the AF Academy. I inherited it and do my best to upkeep it. Just rolled over 131,000 miles. He babied it the best he could. All I've done to it is put in a cd player (instead of a tape deck), a new center console with a cupholder, and replaced the interior lighting with green leds to complete the 1985 green digital dash look. Otherwise, I think there's something to be said about an original stock 25 year old car

25 yr old cloth seats

Had just sanded out the aluminum wheels that had corroded over the years. For an hour of elbow grease, thought they looked pretty good.

The dash... Still smile whenever it hits 88mph (every once in a great while)

Digital accelerometer, compass, and MPG gages. Digital climate control. Aftermarket cd player

I like the tach. I think all vehicles should have a tach that is representative of their respective power curves. Haha. That way you can keep it at peak power and have the gauge to prove it.

it's actually helpful too. The bars are divided vertically as well (but doesnt show unless the car is on) to help you see how much available engine power you have at that specific RPM (which is shown as a brighter green vertical bar amongst the dimmer ones). Fun to play with

Your father taught you well -that shot of the wash bucket mirrored in the wheel view is amazing for a car of that vintage. I loved those digital dashes but they were highly unreliable in most pedestrian cars of that era.

Stunning simply stunning. Those Air Force guys- I would see them frequently when I worked at a gas station in Castle Rock around that time. They all had nice rides and took outstanding care of them. Clearly your Dad was one of them.

That thing looks new and those were fun to drive in the twisties but the '80s weren't known for horsepower and that Z is deserving of more than the 160hp it came with but a turbo helped bump that number to 200hp.
