255's are a great choice for a 32" tire. No complaints with mine.
I will be selling my 255's next week when I have time to post pics. Only 6k miles on them.

One thing I did not like about the 4th gen 4runner was the end of the exhaust. There is a big resonator that hangs low, it was a big eye sore for me. To me even the 3rd gen and 5th gen 4runner ends of the exhausts look much better than the 4th gens.
Enough complaining so I took out the sawzall and cut away.
I am very very surprised that the exhaust noise did not increase at all. Toyota could of gone away from not even putting this resonator in. I been driving like this for a few weeks and no exhaust fumes in the cabin or anything abnormal.

Are you sure about this? Anyone else have some feedback on cutting the resonator off? I would love to do this just because it adds precious ground clearance on the back end, and makes the rear end look cleaner. But I LOVE the stealthy quietness of the 4R and wouldn't want to mess with the NVH tuning.

Yes I am sure. I do not think I am loosing my hearing just yet. Its basically the same sound with it on. I have a V6 so I cannot say anything about the V8 model with the resonator cut off. Maybe the resonator is more for the V8 than the V6?
Main reason I wanted it off was looks, and ground clearance as well. Last year I went to Moab and I hit the rear muffler a few times. Now its not even an issue.
Give it a shot. You can cut it off and re-weld it back on if for some strange reason you do not like it. Not a huge risk at all to cut it off. I even threw the resonator away in the trash since its so quiet with it off no reason to ever put it back on.
If I would of known what I know now I would of cut it off 1.5 years ago when I drove it home from the dealer.

Here are some pictures of my 4runner on my recent trip to Monache Meadows in the Southern Sierra Mountains. I ran Sherman Pass 4x4 Jeep trail with buddy of mine. It was an awesome trail that had some difficult tricky parts to it.

Were you able to program the steering wheel controls fine with that Pac? I have the exact same control, but since preset + / track + use the same button, only one will work. All other functions work fine except the functions that use the same button that has already been programmed.
BTW, nice unit. I just got a Pioneer 4000NEX.

Update:
I could not take the crappy Toyota TomTom stereo anymore. Very hard to use, small, and very outdated for a 2009 vehicle. Glad its gone!
I replaced it with a Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS. I used a PAC SWI RC steering wheel control module. No lag what so ever with this unit. Only problem I had was the PAC programing instructions were vague so it took me 10+ times to get the programming right. Once got it correct took less than 2 minutes to program vs 2 hours trying. All buttons work on my steering wheel with no lag.
I had to cut into the oem piggy back harness since metra does not make a harness for the TomTom units. See picture below.
Install went smoothly. Looks oem which I like. I reused the factory tomtom trim piece so it looks like this HU came from Toyota.
Love the stereo now. Radio reception improved significantly. It sounds like I have new speakers with this new HU.

All my buttons work as indicated. I know at first I had a lot of trouble programming. I took a break and the next day figured out how. The instructions aren't the greatest either. Till this day the PAC is working perfectly and no lag.

i've been wanting to do this exact thing to mine for the exact same reasons you've mentioned. i had the same concerns about it that you've also mentioned, after reading your review of it though, i think i'm sold on cutting it off and going with the cleaned up rear end now.

Go for it, you won't regret it! The 4th gen rear looks fugly with the oem exhaust system that hangs low with the resonator at the end too.
With little to no noise increase its a no brainier to chop it off. I have a V6 so I cannot speak for the V8 with the resonator cut off.

Wow so you were able to get the track + / preset + to work with one button on steering wheel? Please advise me what I am doing wrong. I am only getting one button to do only one function. Called the tech support and said it cant be done!
