My 2018 SR5 Premium upholstery

I have a 2010 (so about 8 years old) SR5 premium with about 95,000 miles on it. My seats still look fantastic. I’m the second owner so I don’t know how the first owner cared for them, but I condition my seats every few months as I see it needs it. My seats really look great. I’ll grab a picture to post.

For reference, I’m an athletic 195 pounds.

I think that’s real leather in your 2010, and they didn’t start using Softex until later. That actually looks identical to the leather in my wife’s 2012 Limited.

As for Softex, I think it should wear extremely well (as in better than leather) assuming Toyota did their homework. Like someone already said, the Germans have been using synthetic leather a long time and I always heard it was durable.

Thanks. I had no idea they changed materials but it makes sense.

If my leather is still looking this good, anyone with Softex shouldn’t even think twice about the longevity of their seats.
