My 3rd Gen Retrofit Projector Project

Just be prepared to deal with either side not firing half the time and then replacing ballasts after a year or so. Those DDM ballasts are junk.
 
I used a basic trailer wiring kit for my DRL halo's. It came with the relay in the kit and was around $20 CAD. A Bosch relay on its own would have cost $15-$20 over here. Admittedly I am using a lesser quality one with the cheapo kit.

I did need to lengthen wires. I suggest having about 10' of extra wire to solder in to make it work. The halo's I had were fused (yours look the same to mine) and the trailer kit has an inline fuse as well.
 
I'm all done and need to post my halo install with auto relay, it can out nice and no extra wiring into the cab

Just wanted to follow up here and say that other than a shorted out connector/bulb due to water infiltration, the kit and ballasts have been working consistently and well for over a year now.

If I had to do it again I would go with better ballasts for sure, but in the meantime these are working and I know I can always upgrade for the cost difference alone with my DDM lifetime warranty.
 
I just did a retrofit with TRS parts. Cannot figure out for the life of me why my lenses are fogging. I have this thing sealed to the hills and back! Any pointers?

There are two breather tubes on each headlamp, make sure these aren't blocked

First of all ty for the detailed write up helped answer some questions.

I just finished my retrofit and when i start the truck the projectors are on right away. I used the supplied h4 harness, shouldn't they be off until i turn on my lights?
