So I decided to get a more fuel efficient car. No I have not gotten rid of the 4runner just cut back on my cummute in it.

So did I make a good choice or what.

Very nice ride! :bigok: I've always liked those. For my tastes I prefer that to a 350z. Love the 4Runner too.

Based on the title of thread I was going to tell you to inflate your tires :lmao:

I love the G35 coupe, it is great car. However, did you check the fuel mileage on it before buying? My buddy has one and the epa estimate is around 19 or 20 combined, he is getting around 16. That is with the manual and the suggested premium gas.

You got that thing for fuel economy? I spose, but that's a damn nice ride. I was expecting to scroll down to an old Civic or something.
I'm in envy. Enjoy!

So far I have had the car approximately 3 weks as of today and I have only driven 190 miles..both of my jobs are within a mile of the house. My daily commute including coming home for lunch is probably 3 miles tops. And that is going to both Yobs...

For scenario sake. the Runner gets about 16.5 city the coupe about 19 being gentle on the gas. And let me say it is very hard to resist but I am rather impressed with how much self control I have maintained..

The stability / traction control system is like putting a leash on the car. Taking it off really wakes the car up. So I think my fuel economy has improved the drawback of course is more insurance and a car payment but damn it is worth it so far.

Nope. Me thinks you're gonna drive that car more than your 4runner. :D

I cut down on drinking, smoking, clubbing, barhopping, stripclubbing, and partying and found more gas more for my T4R. :D

I would imagine that you would have to own that car pretty much forever to make up for the difference in gas prices. Even if you do sell it when you're done, I bet the depreciation will be more than the difference in saved fuel economy. Add to that extra insurance....

I don't see any possible way that it would save money, and not cost money. If you just want a new toy, that's one thing, but I think you just got conned into spending a lot more money that you would have.

Wrong again.

I paid 16.5K for the car based on milage and features my Insurance company appraised the car at 22.5. I could wrap it around a pole and make 6K. I can drive the car for another 70K miles and still sell if for 12K. Insurance mind you that I live in one of the highest premium states in the nation I will pay 1300 for the entire year. My payment 260 a month and I split it into bi monthly payments. I put nothing down financed it with my insurance company and have an intrest rate of 6.31% and purchased it privately. A tank of gas costs me 11 bucks more then the 4runner. And thats only because it has a 20 gallon tank instead of a 16. And I get basically the same fuel economy.

Sadly it amazes me how naive some of you are.

In the last 3 years I have purchased a 2001 toyota tacoma prerunner with stepside bed. again zero down 280 a month purchased for 13.5K and sold it for 16K in less then a year.

Bought a 2005 Dodge ram brand new window sticker 33.5K paid 22.3K owned it 6 months and sold it for 24K. Employee pricing rocks.

Picked up an 87 4runner paid 1800 for it was turboed had it 3 weeks threw a rod.

Bought an 03 altima sl packaged booked for 18.5 paid 13.5 lease return. Sold it for 16.3K again only had it 8 months.

My 4runner in my avatar. I am invested financially into it for about 9600 so far in a time span of 7 years and that includes purchasing it and all of the investments I have made in engine work in the past year. That in itself breaks down to what. Roughly 1400 a year to own it. and my insurance on that is 600 a year.

BTW I have been working in car dealerships for nearly 10 years and sold cars for the last 2 of those years. I have worked finance sales service and the lot. I guess I did not learn too many things over the years. After all I know nothing about fuel economy or finances.

:D

:D

Sadly? Naive?

If you read your original post, you'll see why you're getting all the reactions you are. You claim that you bought a entire different car, yet you're keeping the 4runner, and somehow you are saving money despite having the expenses of two cars, etc.

If you want to get more appropriate responses, how about giving this sort of information in the original post and communicating more thoroughly. By leaving out all the details, then claiming that we are naive when we ask the obvious questions, it's very insulting and naive on YOUR part.

Enjoy your car.
