My 4runner seems very slow

Mine’s really slow when I put it in 4Ludicrous mode. It really howls on the freeway and everyone honks at me. Not sure why. After 10 years I’m thinking of returning it to Costco.

My previous car was a Yugo.... so yeah my 4runner is tear-yer-face-off-fast :thumb: not really it was a ‘89 hilux std dlx with wait for it... a fuel injected 22re, romping a solid ~98 horsepower, power assist brakes, manual steer, no A/C, with a upgrade 60/40 bench with arm rest, lux bro lux :trophy: kinda miss that thing...

I don't know what everybody is talking about, my 4Runner is fast! So fast, I don't even realize it. I'll be tooling around minding my own business, and then I hit the brakes... the nose dives so much I think to myself "Man, I must have been going really fast!"

Magnetic gray with a hood scoop is about all the power I can handle, black I think would be too much for the streets.

Turn off ECO mode.

You cannot turn off ECO mode. You can only turn off the display light, and/or connect an electronic device that removes the accelerator delay in the drive-by-wire system.

Only one color has ''Super'' in it making it aggressively Quick! And a Pedal Commander will help with the ''mush'' in the throttle...I wish I hadn't wasted a year driving it stock as it's the best mod for the money.

And here I thought I was doing ok by just pushing the pedal further. Lesson learned.

This! Coming from a V6 '08, the aggressive early upshifts are what bother me the most. My '08 was actually pretty peppy and the shift strategy was rather nice. No so on my new one.

The trans learns your driving. When my wife drives mine, and I jump in it after, it FEELS faster because she has a lead foot. Same thing on my JK. Drive it more aggressively and it will respond, eventually. If you want the PCM to start over so you cam start fresh, do the battery disconnect and reset procedure.
