My '87 Daily driver

How's it drive on the 17" wheels? I have 4.88's and 16" wheels with 31" tires, once I installed the 4.88's 5th became useable again. Before, on the 4.10's, I could only use 5th gear on very level or downhill roads.

It drives great! I did notice the steering is a little stiffer, but not much, probably due to the tires. So far I love the 4.88's and 33's, my 22RE is tired and I only get use of 5th above 55mph really, but what little it does pull is better than the 31's where with 4.10 gear. That's with much heavier tires too! I'ts running about 3K rpm at gps 65mph, the speedo is running 4mph fast.

Finally ordered a new Softopper today, can't wait to get it now!
I also emailed North West Toys in regards to swap parts for the 1UZ. It won't happen anytime soon, but I'm planning on buying parts each month until I have what I need.

Got the shipping confirmation today, then a follow up email stating they are three weeks back ordered. Damn, I want it now, lol

Still daily driving it, she burns more oil than fuel these days so my engine swap might need to come sooner than later. I'm too lazy to replace valve stem seals. I've been running the softopper for months now and love it, great full for the rear heater this time of year though, keeps the kids happy.
I'm still having issues with the suspension, no matter what changes I make, I cannot smooth out the ride. Any speed greater than 55 and it shakes so damn hard it feels like the whole truck will tear itself apart. I'm at a total loss having all new parts and constantly digging rocks out of my tires and getting them balanced. It feels like a rotational issue and it clearly speed related, but I cannot seem to find the cure. It's not even a consistent shake, which is what has me baffled, it lessens or worsens above 55 with no other changes throughout the drive. Other than that, I'm still loving it and getting constant thumbs up everywhere I go!
