I have been working on this one for a while. I have had it for about 7 years now and when i got it the kid who had it before me destroyed it. About 3 years ago i ruptured my achilles tendon and had some time off work so I decided to fix some of the rust spots. Then i got the crazy idea to spray the outside with spray on bedliner. I used the about 1 1/2 gallons of the stuff from walmart and a spray gun off ebay. it did not turn out to bad.

So 3 years later the stuff starts to peel off and I look for an alternative. Found out about Al's liner and so far its been pretty damn good!!!

This was after the soda blasting.

Sorry for such a long post.

No!! That's poor product placement by me!! :) The orange is from Al's Liner. Well the liner is but the color I added per Al's directions. Orange tint with no binders from a local auto parts store. I got the Herculiner for some small stuff

gotcha!

came out nice. I've thought about herculining the floor of my truck (under the carpet) for both sound dampening and rust resistance....but thats another project for another dollar that I wont have for a bit :D

i guess you can say i have gone crazy with the liner. I had the REAL RHINO LINER sprayed on the floor from front to back shortly after I got the 4runner. my bumpers are done in rhino liner as well. They wanted $4500 to do the outside of the truck. I would not use the herculiner for the floor unless something is going down over top of it. it's pretty rough.

Looks good. like the color too :) and I thought my color choice was loud. Not done in bed liner. just rustoleum. (need a new pic though, got a rear bumper and rock sliders, and it just generally looks nicer then the day the paint dried.

thanks!!!!! it gets a lot of looks around town. I need to get the windows back in and finish up the deck lamp mod i have that is half installed!!!

Nice work, your 4Runner turned out better then I thought it would with the bedliner paint job. I am going to use the same idea to paint mine from the body seam down, after I install some new panels and rid of the rust. Again nice work!

Use the al's liner!!! its the best DIY out there. Trust me I have used most of the others.. prep is key. I would look at the por 15 to stop the rust. Best thing is its hard to have a run in the paint job unless you really saturate one spot. Dont wait to peel the tape off either..

If you buy from ebay it's $99 a gallon. You can get it in black grey or tan. I did not use any of those tints. I used a different tint from an automotive store with no binders. My tint was $25.00 per 12 oz. to get a nice orange.. I por15 the entire truck in black so it was hard to cover up that much. If I do another one I will roll the first coat of AL's liner on there and then spray it on there to give it that nice textured look..

Dont buy the gun form them... its twice as much as it is from Harbor Freight

You have to use a texture gun. The one from als liner website is $50 the harbor freight one is $19.99. I used 5 gallons but I wanted to cover up por 15 which was black real good. Its nice and thick. this stuff is pretty durable. but like the anything else its all in the prep work.

the tint comes in a bottle buy itself. So you do not add the color they send you. I got black kits. I did not ad the black. I will have to look thru my 4runner file and find the brand of tint. I know it was color J59 with the orange i used 12 oz per gallon to get a good tint.. it came out pretty close to the original orange i needed. You must get it with no binders. I think all the stuff i need for the por 15 was about $150. that stuff goes a long way!!!

no problem... with the questions i will help anyway i can!!
