Lots of love been giving to the new 15 4Runner lately, and the 3rd gen is throwing a code to get some attention!

1997 2WD 4cyl., California.

First thing requires buying a new toy (been wanting to get an ODB2 Bluetooth for the '15 anyways), picked this up for $15, arrived within 2 days from Amazon: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OMT6UEK/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00OMT6UEK&linkCode=as2&tag=jickrevi-20&linkId=UEO7MWVHTFRZOLFJ">iSaddle Super Mini Bluetooth OBD2 OBDII Scan Tool Check Engine Light & CAN-BUS Auto Diagnostic Tool for Windows & Android Torque (Blue Color, Super Mini)</a><img src="http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=jickrevi-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00OMT6UEK" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

P0141 "heated oxygen sensor - bank 1, sensor 2" (simple english translation, rear/downstream O2 sensor)

(By the way, while the sticky: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...faq-tutorials-documentation-reference-v2.html is great, the O2 sensor replacement link only talk about the "forward/upstream" sensor, not the rear one.)

Now, requires to buy the sensor, again Amazon comes to the rescue (arrived in 2 days, $48): <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C5WCRC/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000C5WCRC&linkCode=as2&tag=jickrevi-20&linkId=FFX7E6Q3GOGUKLCH">Denso 234-4153 Oxygen Sensor</a><img src="http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=jickrevi-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B000C5WCRC" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

From my research, DO NOT buy any but the DENSO (ie. OEM) sensor, it will save you a LOT of headache!

Ghetto lift, actually, I can fit under the truck no problem even without any lift, this is just for fun and giggles:

One KEY tips here, the night before your installation, crawl under your truck, and spray WD40 on the two 12mm nuts, this make life easy easy easy.....

So, 5min later, it is done!

Trick to this is to stuck a flathead screwdriver to the left latch, and just easily pull out the plug:

This is where this sensor is relative to everything:

I did measure the resistance before I pull off the old sensor, it is at a couple MEGA ohm when it is supposed to be between 11-16ohm, so that is the culprit!

By the way, called around before trying to do this myself, places are telling me that the part cost $190 something and that it would be $70 labor to install it. OMG. This costed me $48 (+$15 ODB2 reader) and <30min including picking up the mail, opening amazon boxes!
