I've been lurking since the summer when I found my T4R, I think it's time for an introduction. I'm a big car guy and have always had an extra car in the garage for projects, but this is actually going to be my new daily driver/kid/dog/parts/camping stuff/Home Depot/whatever hauler. I've always had station wagons in the past but it seemed like a good time to find something that can handle a little of everything Minnesota has to offer.
After a lot of searching I finally found EXACTLY what I wanted. It's a '98 SR5 with some good options including a 5-speed, e-locker and leather. I bought it from the original owner and he was meticulous about keeping it up, he even had a box of Toyota oil filters in the back! It had 107k when I got it, has maybe 109 now, and I have a stack of papers for everything ever done to it.
I like modifying things for sure, but I've reached a point where I actually like keeping things original as well, especially with a find like this. I'm so impressed with how well this truck was preserved that I can't really bring myself to change much, not to mention that everything works!
In addition to daily use if love to do some mild overland/expedition trips in the area, and it's plenty rugged in the stock setup to do what I'd like. I may add a larger roof rack and some LED light bars to help out, but I'd like do keep the ability to go back to stock at any time.
