My back is sagging.

My 4Runner is a 2001 4WD. My ass is starting to ride low and make a click sound when it hits a good enough bump.. I already know that this happens to a lot of 4runners.. Would like some opinions as to what i would benefit most from, fixing the stock suspension or lifting it. I'm not even sure what is causing the problem so idk what i woul fix... If you have any insight on it I'd greatly appreciate it.

I personally, like the looks of a lifted 4Runner. I've always liked customized vehicles, as it adds personality to them. Whether I drove my 4 door 89 Chevrolet Celebrity, 87 Pontiac Grand-Am, 87 Pontiac 6000, 87 Nissan Pathfinder, 95 Chevy Monte Carlo, and now my 4Runner. I always went the custom route.

My opinion, if you're going to replace something on the truck, replace it with something upgraded!

If you didn't notice the sticky thready there's a lot of good information. Took Me awhile to decide if I wanted to lift up 3" or stay close to stock. Decided to go 3 because I thought I'd kick myself down the road.

Anyways, check out that link and get back with us on a closer decision. A lot of not so sures go for the old man emu 906's. Give you back to an even height. Fixes sag. Do You tow any? Or load the rear down a lot? Subwoofers, toolboxes, Etc?

No i dont really tow anything. Not at the moment anyways. I will probably go with a 3" lift because i plan on getting a bigger tire. Though i want to make sure that the sag, and strange clicking sound and feel will go away if i do that.

The Old Man Emu 890s are a good all around rear spring that many of us are running.

If you do nothing to the fronts-you may end up with a bit of rake-meaning the back end will stick up a bit more than level with the front.

Some folks hate that look-others think it is fine. I kind of like it myself.

The choices are endless. Sonoran Steel website is a wealth of info for lifting 3rd gen 4Runners.

Another fine alternative is the 99 model "tall" springs.
