Well good news the frame is not bent but the body is more damaged than I thought however they said they can make it like new again
Also my front bumper is on the way 4 months to the week so I may have my front and back painted at the same time and get back a whole different truck :wow:arty:arty:

I was in a fender Bender a while back. I was making a turn and it was raining out, ran over a reflector and it made me go into a slide (the tires hit it juatvright where the reflector broke free from the concrete and make me go into a slide, hit a uninsured woman sliding sideways and messed up her plastic over the wheel well, but a nice scratch and dent in her quarter panel, and not a single spot of damage on mine.

When I had my 03 Highlander I was rear ended at 10-15 MPH and all it did was scratch my bumper and put a small gash in it.

When I had my 98 T4R I was coming home from Florida and was sitting at the light and a guy in a Nissan Frontier hit a car 3 or 4 cars behind and hit me, bent my bike rack and hitch, no damage to the bumper or frame. I would have hit the person in a red Nissan Altima on front of me but the light turned green and he took off then I got taped. Love my Toyota's!

the only thing under lying in the bumper cover is a solid steel frame cross member lol, I've backed into so many things on acident an just laughed at the tiny plastic scratches compared to the dents these rear ends leave behind. (aka my wifes mustange in our own driveway:ybrick

theres an actuator motor that latches the rear gate shut that could have been damaged or if miss alligned could cause problems after they get everything lined up.

I would imagine they'll just replace the whole rear gate and paint it to match a good body shop will fade the new clear coat towards the front so theres no color differences.

just make sure in the apraisal that they list out all the parts inside the rear gate. you can find parts break downs of everything back there online or in a repair manual. the more you get on the initial check for the coverage the more room you have to run into hidden problems without haveing to go back to insurance for any deductions i doubt the frame is bent as the front of that landcruiser or whatever is way softer than your rear end (obviously lol) theres a small chance damage was done to the main rear cross member but that can easily be repaired compared to the actuall main frame running rails. typically frames dont get bent in rear endings more so in t-bone incidents

I backed up into my garage the other day, crushed my tail light, broke the left side rear bumper in half, (the thing was like spring loaded from the body lift LOL) and i bent the metal inward on the side of the taillight... 1200 bucks for a stupid mistake on my part.. I feel your pain though man

you'll def. need stiffer springs to carry the bumper, you should be able to source just the coils you need. a spacer will get the hieght loss back but you dont want to run a nice fresh painted truck on spacers having awesome bumpers front and rear. look into allpro 3.5 in lift coils they should settle out nice withe the bumper weight to put you at your stance and keep a soft ride. other than that you can look into old man emu springs as they have several weight rating options

The bilstien 5100's should work well your looking for shocks with around 9-10 inch's of travel.

I went to orielly's auto parts store and bought be biggest fan on there shelf. haha. It's worked fine for normal daily driving and sitting in traffic but it wasn't enough when i hit the trail. The high rpm's low gears and slow speed kept the engine pretty warm i had to piggy back a secondary fan as a pusher to the front condensor. So I plan to uprade my fan setup I found this perma cool Efan that looks like it should to the trick: HD Electric Fan 18"x3 3/4" 2950 CFM

they make a smaller 16" one that i found for 205.00 at summitracing.com that should work i just wanted to make it overkill this time. also i wired a controller in to A.) a theromstate switch and B.) a A/C clutch relay switch. to activate the fan

In my State and my City we have a large group of non English speaking people whop have no drivers licence's or Auto insurance. And they drive as crazy as if they were back in their Country. But they all have cell phones.

My wife being a non English speaking cell phone owner type of person you refer to has us in a social circle that I think might offer some perspective. Insurance creates a moral hazard for "us" that "they" don't have. As a result (at least I think) they (by my first hand experience, tend to be more conservative drivers.

I am planning to mount my air tank or tanks in its place and protect it with a steel plate when I get it back
