Hey Full_Throttle, sweet 4runner! I have the same truck same color and everything. I wanted to know if those pictures right when you put the spacers and duratracs on were stock height or lifted, trying to go about my build the same way.

been a while....

I realized that it has been a while since I have actively updated my build thread.:lasercannon:

Sooooo.......

I finished the rear bumper, sliders, lights, etc.

Here are some updated pictures.

I will be spending a week in the Ouray/Silverton Co. area next month hiking and running the Alpine loop looking for good fishing spots, so I will get to put her to the test.:thumb:

I got my calipers from a local yard for $60/pair, bought a rebuild kit for $13 from Toyota, $20 for paint from Amazon, and $120 for rotors and pads from Amazon. IMO, if you have a few hours, buy OEM Toyota parts and rebuild them. You'll still end up cheaper than buying remans and you can sell your stock ones for a little bit of cash. Speedy has a great video or rebuilding and painting.

BIG fan of your rear bumper. It is so tight, looks like it has very nice departure angle. And you're going to Ouray!?! I'm going to have to live vicariously through you for a little while. Make sure to post up some Ouray pics. That has to be one of my favorite places on earth.

Hidden Trailer hitch

What trailer hitch are you running? I love how it is tucked up and out of the way unlike the 6" below the bumper factory hitch. Is that a retro fit or how did you get it so stealthily hidden?

Look through the thread where he cut it and welded it to the frame. I did the same thing. Copied his. Lol

Ran the alpine loop and a bunch of off shoots last 2 years running... Awesome! Brake upgrade will be a big help with the grades and weight of the truck... Alta lakes is a great camping spot, drink some modushoperandi for me! Such a great area!

Tundra brake upgrade compete

I finished the Tundra brake upgrade. No pics because, well, there are tons of write-ups on it already. I have been getting the truck ready for my big trek to Ouray Colorado and the Alpine loop area :clap2: :becky: :dance:

I have several maps as well as the Colorado trails book that everyone says to get (I forget the name at the moment).

I will take lots of pics from atop many a mountain pass this next week. I have spent the past few years preparing the runner for this trip, I sure am excited!!

Next stop, Colorado for a week. (leaving Saturday morning early, 23 hour drive straight thru)

If you are talking about with the factory bumper, if you look in the first page of this thread, you will see how I moved the factory setup up in-between the frame-rails.

If you are talking about the custom bumper that I built later in this thread, it is just a standard receiver that I picked up from Rural King I believe and cut and welded it into the custom-build bumper.

Building any bumper is a big undertaking especially one with a tire carrier. What caught my attention the most was the hinge execution and every bit of the bumper detail...that's nice. The overall outcome flows well with your 4runner.

See I commented on your pre-bumper build and had forgotten about it til you reminded me about it on my build thread..Been away and never got to follow through on it. Again, what a build....well done!

That hinge was something I knew I wanted....When I saw it on one of the bumper fabricators setup I knew I needed to copy it. Overall I am very pleased with it. I just love it when someone asks where I bought that rear bumper and I say, "bought?? na I built that!" :eyebrows:

Awesome build! I have the exact same runner, minus the mods for now and I love the two tone. I personally will leave the murdering out to someone else :thumb3:
Did you find any good fishing spots on the Loop? I am going back up there soon and need a good flying spot

Really liking it. The hitch is great too. Cleans up the rear end nicely and gets most of the hitch out of the way. Form and function.
