My Door Is NOT Open!

Interesting problem.
Every now and then, my "DOOR OPEN" warning light comes on...
as does the center dome light.
I went around and opened/closed all five doors....but it still happens.
Seems like every day on the way home...everything is fine until I get close to the house.
And then it starts.
The lights will go on for a few seconds and then off, and it repeats 3 or 4 times.
Then it's fine until the next day.

I did disconnect my sunroof switch for a few days while I installed a CB.
And the truck is pretty dirty from driving in a winter storm last month.
Not sure if that makes a difference, but I wanted to present ALL evidence.

Any ideas?

PS
I did search for similar problems, but it seemed all the other posts were about dome lights or DOOR OPEN lights that DON'T come on.

Check if all the door sensors are functioning or not missing?

Haven't looked at the T4R's specifically, but I recall those are pretty simple sensors across most cars. Just a little physical switch or prong that moves in/out with the door opening and closing.

Maybe one is broken/wobbly and the sensor can't feel any resistance?

Thanks.

I know the sensors are NOT missing, as the warning light is not ALWAYS on.
I will mess with them this weekend.

Weird.
I started to hear a rattle in the cargo area, so I checked the rear window.
It was NOT all the way up, so I closed it.

Haven't had the issue since.

Didn't realize the WINDOW would set off the DOOR OPEN sensor.

Thanks for all the advice!

It doesn't. Or, at least mine doesn't. I have driven with the window down, without, the light coming on. Maybe there is a loose wire in the hatch door that caused it?

That's what I thought at first.
Figured it was a loose wire, or a bad sensor....
since the light only went on very randomly.
Just weird how the problem stopped when I put the window all the way up.

Thanks for your input...

At this point, I am moving on.
If it happens again, I'll look into it more!

Sounds like your particular gremlin has disappeared for now but another tip for anyone having issues consistent with "body control module" complaints, windows, door switches, wipers, locks, fuel level - clean the two body control harness plugs that are at the lowest level in each side behind the kickpanels, one driver, one passenger, they are held in with a 10mm head bolt. They are protected by being in the cabin and behind the kick panel but if you've gotten lots of winter slush and salt in there lately the can corrode pretty easily.
