My FJ replacment '17 TRD Off-Road

Checking in from WI.

This is replacing my '07 FJ Cruiser.

I looked at a bunch of used ones over the last 6 months, decided to just get what I wanted and buy new.

I don't need a new car but jealous of you guys moving to 4runners. I like the additional cargo space. Congrats on the new rig!
 
I gotta ask. Does the 4runner feel more sluggish than your FJ?
I backed off buying a 4runner after test driving it because it felt like it had no acceleration.
I had to punch it in order for it to respond. Had I punched the FJ like I did the 4runner it would have laid rubber like the Delorean time machine.

Have only test driven a few FJ automatics didn't seem all that different, mine was a 6 speed manual. The 4Runner sure doesn't hop off the line like the manual did that's for sure.

The 4Runner has a heavier feel and a much better ride. Acceleration is great as far as I'm concerned, but I don't have to be first in line at every red light. Have only had to get on it hard once to get around someone, seemed just fine to me.

My FJ was an automatic and it does not feel that much different.

I agree that the 4Runner has a much better ride! I also like the lack of blind spots, like the FJ had.

My uni-brow replacement should be here tomorrow, I did add the running boards just becasue they keep the road grim down and ward off a few door dings.

Still can't figure out why someone has to park right next to me in a empty parking lot, no matter how flipping far I park away from the doors.

No real plans right now. Well maybe a better set of tires, have to see how these do in the snow.
 
We'll be doing almost the same thing as you (I'm looking at used 4Runners) but we sold our FJ once it was too hard to get the little one in the back.
