My four-year build: Supra content inside

Hey Amalik.

Another Supra just because. I picked it up right before I pulled the motor out of the red one. It's got some miles on it and needs body/paint but is an original turbo 6spd car and for the price he was asking I couldn't resist.

The motor for the red car is with Mike in San Diego and the machining is being done by his guy. Mike's machinist has done plenty of these motors, including the one in his 9 second car right now, and if Mike trusts him then so do I. The motor is in very good hands this time around. The shop I used last time was just a small local machine shop who had never done a 2JZ before. This is what I get. :/

Your Supra is just sexy.... I know they are starting to put on some age but there is just something about this car that is amazing. Just being able to put down a ass beating to almost anything on the road still is got to be a good feeling.

That's kinda the plan. I need to get the red one buttoned up and running before I start tearing into the black one. Last thing I want right now is two Supra projects. I really miss having a Supra I can drive around casually. I'd love to daily drive one. The black one might be it, we will see.

Wanna sell me your second Supra?

I'd feel way too bad putting that car on someone else right now. When I finally send it off to the body shop and have it looking like a nice Supra again, I might consider selling at that point. I still really want to get a '97 Jewel Green 6spd. I've been tossing around the idea of painting the red one green. Won't happen until next year if I really go through with it.

Thanks Blue. Confidence is definitely something you feel while behind the wheel of a Supra, especially the red one. We have a joke in the Supra community that the only other cars we fear on the road are other Supras.

Ever find that IJM 3rd gen friend? I also think you need a Green Supra, whether you paint it or sell and find an original.

Hey Catt! Haven't found the IJM 3rd gen but I'm still looking. I've kinda given up on finding a 4WD but still want a manual. The ones I seem to come across on Craigslist are all autos.

I would love a green Supra. I was in Vegas last week or the week before for the big Supra meet and I was drooling all over the green ones. I like Jewel Green a bit more than IJM (on a Supra at least), although it would be cool to have an IJM Supra and 4Runner!

The red Supra is still in pieces but I'm gathering parts slowly and will begin the rebuild hopefully by the end of the year. The new motor is going to be badass and I've got a couple other things I'm excited about as well (Sleeper Design RMR style intake manifold and direct port nitrous). Car is gonna be insane. 200mph in the half mile or bust.

I hear ya! I originally planned to got to SIV but wasn't able to last minute. Sad day!

Can't wait to follow your build soon then! I'll keep my eyes peeled for manual green 4runners my friend.
