I took off the bumpers and sanded them with 36git sand paper, the primer, then paint.

The black truckbed coating came out a lot thinner than a lot of bumpers i see on here. Personally i like it more because it isnt as chunky as some of those you see, doesnt even looked bedcoating till you get really close and almost touch it.

That does look nice. I just did my wheels the same color as yours so the chrome bumpers are next. Mine is also Imperial Jade Mica. A few questions: How long ago did you do it and how is it holding up? Belt sand, hand, orbital or what? How many cans of liner and primer did you use? Did you do the hitch,too? It looks like it. Finally, what did you do to the step? I can never get anything to stick there. Thanks.

I have a 96 in the same color w/215000 miles.
but the paint on the hood and roof has faded badly.
What is the name of the color for our runners? Evergreen??
Also how did you paint the wheels. did you rough them up a little or just spray them??

That's a really good question. I bought mine for $3,900 with around 180K miles. They guy had a book with every single thing that has ever been done to the car. I don't want to sell it at all, but if I honestly got more than I paid for it I'd be happy.

Wow, I'd pay $5000 just for a rust free body and frame! It's amazing what these puppies actually sell for, because to me they are worth tons more. I paid $8300 for 120,000 miles, but to me the truck is worth about $20,000. I wouldn't pay someone that much for one, but I certainly wouldn't trade it for a 2011 Yaris, and in Canada a Yaris is going to hit about $20,000.

A few questions:
How long ago did you do it and how is it holding up?.

Its been on there about a week now, i can run a screw driver on it and nothing comes off.

Belt sand, hand, orbital or what?

Orbital 36grit.

How many cans of liner and primer did you use?

For the front and back bumpers, youll need 2 cans of primer and three of the liner.

Did you do the hitch,too?

The hitch is just spray painted black, my next project is to do the truckbed spray.

Finally, what did you do to the step?

Take the bumpers off. Ruff them up really good with the 36 grit sand paper all over. Nows the time to take out any dents if you want to. Two coats of primer, i let mine dry over night. then two to three coats of the truckbed spray. Let it dry a few hours before you put them back on or it will chip. It drys to the touch in about 15min but it needs a good two days to be fully dry. Hope this helps.

Not sure on the color, need to find out tho.

I roughed the rims up a bit with some sand paper. Primed, them 2 coats of flat black paint. Im thinking of doing the truckliner on them because of how well it holds up on my bumpers and how much i like the look. Ill get some photos of them if i do.

Imperial Jade Mica Code 6Q7. Thanks for the answers. I've seen the other threads, but I really liked your 'lighter' look. Sorry CJ80, but yours is a little too 'heavy' on the texture for my taste.
